Coultes, of the 10th concession of 1. et

83rd year and was orn in the United
States and came to anada with his par-
ents when six wee s old. The family
settled in Nassaga eya Township, Hal-
ton County. The subject of this sketch
remained in Halto county until he was
about thirty years f age. He arrived
in East Wawanosh and settled on his
farm on his 30th bi •thday and continued
to reside on the fa n up to the time of
his death, thus spe ding over fifty-two
on the one farm. He was a man high-
ly esteemed in the community in which
he had so long res ded and helped to
clear from bush 1 d to a prosperous
ccuntry. In religi.n Mr. Coultes was a
Presbyterian and ' 1 politics a Liberal.
In early manhood Ile married Martha
Scott, and some th ee years ago they
celebrated their g• den wedding. Ile-

Robert Gordon, a y•ungfarmer, aged
25, residing in MeKil op Township, is in
