the telegraph wires are broken down with heft of ice on them

fences that it will smother pasing over the rail road
I see the telegraph wires are broken down with the heft of ice on them

Nov 2 This morning at 4.30 a automobile transport struck the end of the river bridge as
is approached it fom the north and the bridge collapsed carring the truck with it to the
river about twenty ft below.The bridge has a 90 foot span it was built in 1888 and had
become very weak

to see the transport removed from it

Feb 1 The weather all through January was very mild wih very little snow some days
almost like spring with the roads dry and dusty
17 Very fine day just like April we went to Zurich rto see the deris after the Planeing
Mill was burned down, The loss is estimated at from $50 to 60 thousand dollars with no
insurance
18 The weather is much colder today with some snow the coldest since first of the year
March 30 Mildred and I went to Galt and found them pretty well Sam feeld weak ut
looks quite well, the weather was very stormy and the roads were very slippery we upset
the car in the ditch but there was not much damage done to the car, Mildred hurt her neck
but I was not hurt at all
April 7 Good Friday we spent the day at home

May 22 Lyla went back to Hunters Saturday night and was taken sick and had to stay
there
25 We took miss Folick back to Hunters to wait on Lila as she is not improving The
weather is very fine, the crops are looking very good I never saw them better
June 10 We have had some very hot weather the latter part of May and first of June but
it is quite cool now, we have had a fire in the furnace for two days
16 Planted corn today, this finishes the planting for this year.

20 Went to Leamington today to bring Bill home, he delivered a gas truck there for B.

today The farmers are busy cutting wheat which is a very good crop, the weather very

16 Russel Ray Shirley Joe Clara Mildred ill and May Jones were here for tea cool day
17 Finished planting for this year planted beets and Chinese cabbage and lettuce
Aug 14 About noon today Russel Balkwills men upset a tar outfit against our barn and
set it on fire but the fireman put it out efore it was all burnt the roof was about all that
was burnt but we are going to tare it down and build a larger one The weather is very hot
and dry we have had no rain for three weeks
30 Bought a battery for the car $16.75 – 17 plate

2 Went to London to meet Sam + Alma
3 Sam and Alma went home today by bus
18 While tearing down the barn that was partly destroyed by fire some time ago I was
struck on the head by a falling joist and received a cut which required nine stitches to
close it
20 Will Mawhinney was buried today
Nov 3 cleaned the cistern. Very fine day
11 Fine rain last night the first we have had for a long time. We have had a most
wonderful summer and fall very sunny and warm crops were good and weather fine
21 Bert Wenner died today in Trevithicks Store at Brensley. wet day with snow at night
22 Quite a fall of snow today the first time we have had enough to cover the ground
Dec 25 We went back to Chester,s to spend the day the weather is fair but there is a lot
of snow

Feb 18 We are just having our first thaw since the middle of December, and. the snow
is very deep the roads have been impassible at times even for horses
23 Got one half pig from Chester 80 lbs 20 cts per pound the weather is quite mild but
the roads are very bad the snow is very deep
March 13 Very fine day the snow going very fast
16 The snow is nearly all gone there was a very sever thunder storm this morning
18 We went for a car ride the weather is like May and the roads are all dry, where there
was 10 feet of snow a little while ago
30 Good Friday very fine day. the flowers are in bloom and th grass is growing very

We have had very unusual weather all through March. The snow went off very fast and it
has been warm and sunny almost every day and no snow has fallen for the whole month
5 We had a little snow today the first we have had since the first of March. I went to the
