They were married at the home of the bride's parents In Howick Township, Oct. 9, 1929. Since then they farmed at RR 1, Gorrie, before retiring to the village five years ago. They were married Oct. e, 1908, by Rev. R. S. Jones at the home of the bride's parents in Howick Township. They farmed at RR 1, Gorrie until their retirement to the village five years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Hastie have a family of three daughters, Mrs. John ( Edith) Blythe of Sauble Beach, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Strong, of RR 1, Gorrie, Mrs. Keith (Margaret) Finnigan of London, and two sons, Robert of RR 1, Gorrie and Thomas of Woodbridge. There are 14 grand- children and one great-grand- child. A family dinner was held in their honor at Capt'n Zack's, Wingham. Many greetings, cards, flowers and gifts marred the happy occasion. Special congratulatory greet- ings were received from local MPP Murray Gaunt and Bob Mc- Kinley, MP. Mr. Gaunt also presented Mr. and Mrs. Hastie with a beautiful scroll plaque from the Parlia- ment Buildings, Toronto, and signed by William G. Davis, premier of Ontario. Greetings from Government House, Ottawa were also received and signed by Ed Schreyer, Governor General of Canada.
