CLEGHORN—At the Wingham and District Hospital on Friday, September 21, to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cleghorn, RR 2, Wingham, a daughter. • SHETLER—At the Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, September 24, to Mr. and Mrs. Mose Shetler, a son. Well-known musician dies at 66 Cornelis (Casey) deHaan of Trowbridge died in the Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wed- nesday, Sept. 19 in his 66th year. Mr. deHaan was born in Schraard, province of Freesland, Holland and was a son of Tjeerd deHaan of Holland and the late Elisabeth de Jong deHaan. He was married in 1939 to the former Wybrig ( Wilma) Dakker. Following their marriage they took up residence in Holland where they resided until they came to Canada with five of their children in 1948. They have been residents of Trowbridge for 18 years where they farmed until five years ago. Mr. deHaan also followed his profession of piano and organ tuning and repairs and was very well-known for his talent in music. He was a choir leader in the Christian Reformed Church, Listowel of which he was a mem- ber. Surviving besides his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bakke) Johnson of Sanford, Mrs. Tim (Betty) Van de Kemp of Embro, Janna of Uxbridge and Mrs. Hugh (Pearl) Verstoep of RR 1, Atwood; and three sons, Sidney of Abbotsford, B.C., Shadde of Waterloo, Anno of Mission, B.C.; also 16 grandchil- dren, his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Tjeerd deHaan, two sisters and a brother all of Hol- land and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Luci deHaan of Holland. He was predeceased by his mother and two brothers. Mr. deHaan rested at the Peebles Funeral Home, John St., Atwood where friends were re- ceived from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21. The funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Chris- tian Reformed Church, Listowel at 10 a.m. and was conducted by Rev. Wesley Ball of Thamesford. The pallbearers were John Van de Kemp, Henk Vangalen, Tony Vandyke, John Meinema, Simon. deRuiter and Peter deGroot and the flower bearers were grand- children, Kim and Sonia deHaan, Tamara and Wanetta Johnson. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations were made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
