Aug. 15.
While the weather was cold and
not very promising in the mor-
ning it turned out to be much
better in the afternoon.
The ladies were welcomed by
Yvonne McPherson. Before the
first game was played a Spider
was conducted by Miss Mc-
Pherson. The ladies formed a
circle around the green and the
kitty was placed in the centre of
the circle. At a given signal each
lady rolled one bowl towards the
kitty; the lady whose bowl came
closest was the winner. The prize
for the Spider was won by May
Weekes of London.
After the second game a
delicious meal was served by the
ladies of the local club.
Miss McPherson presented the
Memorial Album and first prize
to the winning rink, which was
the same London rink which won
last year: Mrs- Weekes -skin, and
her sisters, Mrs. Doris Neil, vice,
and Mrs. Queenie Welch, lead.
They had three wins, a plus of 32
and an overplus of two.
The other winners were:
second, Yvonne McPherson, skip,
Mrs. Kay Murray, vice, and Mrs.
Margaret Hastings, lead, of
Wingham with two wins, a plus of
38 and an overplus of two; third,
Mrs. Wilma Kerr, skip, Mrs.
Audrey MacKay, vice, and Mrs.
