SENIORS IN ACTION
Seven local golfers took part in
the Seniors Tournament in
Listowel last Wednesday and
walked off with a good share of
the prizes.
Omar Haselgrove was the most
senior of the bowlers and won a
prize as the oldest golfer in at-
tendance. Harry Garniss won the
low gross for golfers 70 years of
age and over and Harry Elliott
won one of the low net prizes.
Harper English took the low
gross in the 60-65 flight and Hap
Swatridge took a net prize in the
50-55 flight.
Jack Sturdy and Omar
Haselgrove both birdied the first
hole in the tournament.
SUNDAY MORNING
The tees were busy Sunday
morning as 62 golfers were out.
The highlight of the day was a
hole in one by Paul Cerson. He
scored it on the seventh hole
using a three wood. Other golfers
in his foursome were Joe Kerr,
Bill Dauphin and Dennis Vath.
The low gross for the day went
to Bill Skelding with a 34. Other
prize winners were Paul Cerson,
Dave Ohm and Joe Kerr.
The seventh hole was good for
some golfers that morning. Hugh
Mundell put the ball very close to
the pin and sank the putt for a
birdie.
WINS AT HANOVER
Two members from the Clinton
area, Len Arnstron and George
Divok, took part in the Hanover
Travel Tournament in Hanover
and both came home with prizes.
George won a gross prize in the B
flight and Len earned a net prize
in the C flight.
CENTENNIAL TOURNAMENT
Everything is ready for the big
centennial tournament June 30.
Mary Ann Cruickshank is con-
