On March 6 after school the
Grade 6-7 room had a small
party. It was originally intended
to be a tobogganing party but
melting snow stopped the
tobogganing. Instead the group
stayed at school and had fun by
playing games and having a
small banquet.
SPORTSMANSHIP EVIDENT—Howick's Super Series '79
might have been short on championship trophies (there
weren't any presented), but it was long on sportsmanship
and participation by all Tyke players present. Above

Tyke players was one of the most popular to be held In the
Howick Community Centre.
SUPER SERIES '79—House League Tykes from Durham
and Howick East face off during a game in the Super Series
'79 tournament in Howick arena on Saturday afternoon. The
game ended In a 4-4 tie with Howick coming back from a 3-1
;deficit The series, organized by John Armstrong of RR 1,
Fordwich, featured no champions or trophies. Instead It
promised each team entered three games and the young-
sters a meal and a crest. The tournament was a solid hit
with both players and spectators. The Howick arena was
filled to capacity for both days of the,weekend tournament.
