This photo was taken, of course, before the amalgamation of the The Advance with -The Times. Bill McCool, former owner of The Advance Times, tells us that the publisher of The Advance at the time the picture was taken was probably Theo Halt, who sold the paper to John Joynt in 1913. The staff members, in traditional black printers' aprons, numbered four and posed with a big black dog whose duties in the pant shop are not clearly understood. A careful comparison of the original photo with buildings along the main street leads us to believe it was the northern half of the Meyer, Block, now a part of Leroy Jackson's plumbing outlet and before that the late W.
