-TWO WILD MALLARD DUCKS were raised by Turnberry Central's Grade seven class.
The custodian, George Tervit, had found a dead duck and a nest full of eggs. He brought
the eggs to school and the Grade seveners put them in an incubator. Within two days, the
eggs had hatched. The only surviving ducklings are Dewey, who is held by Vicki Jeffray
on the left, and Hughey, held by Aileen Underwood.
THE SECOND CHIEF SCOUT AWARD won by a Wingham Boy Scout was given to
Michael Beattie by last year's Scout leader, Martin Cretier. The Queen Scout is a fore-
runner to the Chief Scout. Mr. Cretier told the Wingham troop, "You are not boys, you are
Scouts, young adults."
