An omission in the April 39
issue, referring to the death of
Arthur Wade Stapleton, was the
soloist, George Maradin, who
sang two of Art's favorite songs,
"Until Then" and "I'll Meet You
in the Morning at the Eastern
Gate", followed by the congrega-
tion singing his favorite hymn,
"What a Friend We Have in
Jesus".
Also, in Mr. Stapleton's
obituary, it was stated that he
moved to Culross Township while
a- boy and attended S. S. No. 3,
Culross. Mr. Stapleton was born
and lived most of his life in Turn -
berry Township but residing on
the township boundary, he at-
tended a Culross school.

Area schools take part
in Huron Music Night
More than $400 was raised
Wednesday evening when the
third annual North Huron Music
Night was held at F. E. Madill
Secondary School. Seven schools
from the Wingham, Brussels,
Blyth and neighboring areas took
part in the program which fea-
tured square dancing demonstra-
tions, choir singing and ukulele
stringing.
Master of ceremonies was Don
Kenwell with guest conductor
Gerry Fagan who conducted a
massed choir finale at the con-
clusion of the show. The Brussels
Senior Choir, under the direction
of Doreen Raymond and Phyllis
Rodger, performed a song called
"Tammy". Following was the
Wingham Public School Primary
Choir singing "I've Got No
Strings", "Bare Necessities" and
"Zip -A -Dee -Doo -Dahl' under the
direction of Brenda Schedler and
Catherine MacDonald on the
piano.
Other choirs to take part in the
program were: Grade 7 and 8
classes of Wingham Public
School led by Margaret Walsh;
Brussels Junior Choir, Luella
Mitchell; Howick Junior Choir,
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Parsons;
East Wawanosh Public School,
Nancy Daer; Grade 4 class of
Brussels Public School, Margaret
Tyerman and Grey Central
Senior Choir, Floyd Herman and
Jan Ditsch.
Very familiar, and a most ef-
fective group, was the Howick
Senior Ukulele Band who played
"Paper Roses" "Please Release
Me", "Me and Bobby McGee"
and "Let Me Be There" under
the direction of Mr. and Mrs.
Parsons. John Kerr and Hugh
Sinnamon then led the Turnberry
Central Choir in selections from
Joseph and the Amazing Techni-
color Coat. The final choir . was
from Blyth Public School led by
Mrs. Hulley.
The evening came to a fitting
end when all schools combined to
sing "Climb Every Mountain
conducted by Gerry Fagan,
director of music at the Listowel
and District Secondary School.
The program was produced by all
the music teachers of North
Huron with the proceeds going to
the music fund for North Huron.
PROVIDING A PLEASANT BREAK 1n the action during
the North Huron Music Night Wednesday evening was Mar-
garet Tyerman's Grade 4 class from Brussels Public School
who put on a square dancing demonstration. More than 400
students from area schools took part in this year's program
with the proceeds going to the Music Fund for North Huron.
UNDER THE DIRECTION of John Kerr and Hugh Sinna-
mon, Turnberry's Central Choir sang selections from
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Coat Wednesday
evening at the North Huron Music Night held at F. E. Madill
Secondary School. This year's program was produced by
music teachers of North Huron with all proceeds going to a
general fund for the improvement of music.
