In a letter delivered April 20 to Donald C. MacDonald, commit- tee chairman, signed on behalf of Ontario Hydro by Hydro Chair- man Robert B. Taylor, Mr. Taylor said the latest 1976 finan- cial forecast contained in a new submission to the Committee showed that, "almost every component of the forecast has worsened. "The principal factors are: re- duced demands for power from customers; decreased revenue from export energy sales; up- dated operating costs and higher interest charges." He said, "We also hope that the Committee, after its extensive investigation of the financial pressures upon Ontario Hydro, would support the vigw that the alarming deterioration of its financial strength can only be re- versed by the implementation of future rates that cover costs. Such rates would, of course, be within the intent of the guidelines of the anti-inflation program."
