Curling Club
holds banquet
There was an excellent
turnout of curlers and guests
for the closing banquet of the
1982-83 season last Saturday
evening at the club. After a
roast beef dinner, a short
business meeting was held.
The following is the slate of
officers for the 1983-84
season : president, David
Bender; first vice, John
Schenk; secretary, Nancy
Inwood; SOLCR, Mary
Williams; OCA represen-
tative, Dave Ablett. The
following will head the
various committees: round
robin, Wayne Elston;
membership, John Van-
derleeuw; bonspiel, John
Bannister; prizes, Ethel
Gerrie; and, social, Judy
Booth.
Hugh Clugston was
presented with a plaque
from incoming President
Dave Bender to show ap-
preciation for the fine job
Mr. Clugston did as
president this year.
Ken Roberts of Wingham
won the television in the
draw. The remainder of the
evening was spent dancing.

THE HOWICK MIDGETS captured the WOAA 'D' division title this
year in addition to the D category championship at the Wingham
Midget tournament. The team is coached by Don Ruttan and Bob
Allen and members include: back. Graham Harper, Trevor Peel, Scott
THE EAST HOWICK TYKES won this year's Tri -County
championship as well as* the Harriston and Monkton
tournaments. The boys are: in back, Trevor Smith,
Phillip Livermore, Jason D'Arcey, Sam Doubleday, Dan-
ny MacGregor, Kevin Meyer, Coach Ron Livermore; in
front, Jeff Schul, David Keil, Tom McClement, Michael

Teeswater Agri -Lotto
holds dance and draw
The end of a successful
year for the Teeswater Agri -
Lotto was marked with a
dance Saturday evening at
the Teeswater Complex
which also saw the beginning
of the 1983-84 season.
A crowd of almost 300
danced to the music of Norm
Dunsmore and the lucky
$1,000 winner for the evening
was Dave Moffatt of
Holyrood. Winners of the
early -bird draw were: Brian
Donaldson of Formosa; Mr.
and Mrs. Henry de Ruiter of
Listowel; Jim and Linda
McKee of Teeswater; Jack
and Gladys Colvin of
Teeswater; Lloyd and
Shirley Lamont of
Teeswater; and, Wilfred
Weiss of Teeswater.
The tickets for the 1983-84
draw are all sold due to the
efforts of the tickets sellers.
The Teeswater Agricultural
Society and the curling club
each were presented with
cheques for $8,000. This
brings the total made for
each organization to $36,500
in the past four years.
The final draw for last
year's ticket "holders was
made and Ed Brick of
Formosa was the $500
winner. Winners of $100
cheques were: Mac Arm-
strong of Teeswater; Paul
Fischer of Walkerton and
Bill Parker of Formosa;
Ross McCall and Rolly
Kaufman of Wingham; Mark
Walters of Teeswater; John
Benninger of Mildmay; and,
George Kieffer of
Teeswater.
Throughout the evening
there were prizes for spot
dances and the winners
were: Bonar and Ruby

Minor hockey awards
presented at region
The Wingham Minor
Hockey Association held its
awards presentation day last
Saturday at the Wingham
Legion with a large crowd of
parents and children in
attendance.
Two new awards were
presented this year: the
Jason Bateson Memorial
Trophy, donated by the
Mother's Auxiliary to Minor
Hockey, went to Joey Walker
as the member of the
Wingham'Pee Wee team who
displayed the most sport-
smanlike qualities over the
year; and, the Walter Brown
Memorial Trophy, presented
to Robert Schistad of the
Wingham Midgets for the
player the most dedication to
his team.
Individual awards were
presented and among them
were: the most valuable
player for the Midgets, Brett
Cameron, and high scorer,
Brett Cameron. Paul
Robinson was named most
improved player for the
Midgets.
Murray Foxton was
chosen most valuable player
for the Wingham Pee Wee
team. Paul Brophy was top
scorer for the same team.
Optimist Awards were
presented to both Tyke
teams, the Atoms, the Pee
Wee B team and the Bantam
B team for shooting, stick -
handling and skating. All the
Tykes and Atoms received
plaques and pucks witk their
names on them.
Donny Heinmiller re-
ceived the Imperial Esso
Award as the most valuable
Atom player and Robbie
MacKay was named most
improved for the same team,
while Robbie Harrison was
chosen most cooperative for.
