homosexual husband, in a gem heist. Conflict arises be-
tween younger man and husband, who turns out to really

FRIDAY, 8:00 P.M. -"BROTHER JOHN". Starring Sidney
Poiter, Will Geer, Beverly Todd. Black man returns to his
home town just as his sister dies, and black workers strike
the town's leading industrial plant. He is thought to be an
outside agitation until it is learned he is the messenger of
death.
FRIDAY, 11:00 P.M. -"DARK PLACES". Starring Robert
Hardy, Joan Collins, Christopher Lee. A former mental
patient, masquerading as a hospital administrator, in-
herits the ruined mansion of a man who killed his wife and
children and died insane.
SUNDAY, 4:00 P.M.-"VROODER'S HOOCH". Starring
Timothy Bottoms, Barbara Seagull, Albert Sahni. This is
an offbeat romantic comedy concerning a young ex -GI who
lives it up in his own admirable style in an underground
shelter he has secretly dug. Examines the loneliness of
forgotten men, and the wounds of war that can never heal.
SUNDAY, 8:00 P.M. -"CRIES AND WHISPERS". Starring
Harriet Anderson, Ingrid Thulin, Liv Ullmann. Four wom-
en dressed in white in a mansion painted red ... haunted
by whispers and cries. A morbid deathwatch, as two sisters
and a devoted servant watch Agnes, a 37 -year-old spinster
die. During this time the outer refinements of these four
women are stripped bare to reveal their tortured souls.
MONDAY, 8:00 P.M. -"THE EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS
ON MAN -IN -THE -MOON MARIGOLDS". Stars Joanne
Woodward, Nell Potts, Judith Lowry. Story of a woman
bringing up her two daughters in absolute squalor. One
daughter escapes into her intellect while the other seems
destined to become another 'half-life' like her mother.
MONDAY, 11:00 P.M.-"CROMWELL". Starring Richard
Harris, Alec Guinness, Dorothy Tutin. England at the time
of Charles I is divided by political troubles. The country is
forced into a war between the Roundheads and the Cav-
aliers. Victory of the Roundheads brings Cromwell to
power.

DOESN'T". Starring Suzanne Pleshette, Joseph Bologna,
Rosanna Arquette. A middle-aged . realtor who remarries
to a much younger woman, has his former wife and son
move in with them, because of financial troubles with
alimony.
TUESDAY, 11:00 P.M.-'"GORDON'S WAR". Starring Paul
Winfield, Carl Lee, Tony King. A group of black ex -Green
Berets, returning to Harlem from their tour of Vietnam, go
on an all-out war to bust the dope ring in the community.
WEDNESDAY, 8:00 P.M. -"NEPTUNE FACTOR". Star-
ring Ben Gazzara, Yvette Mimieux, Walter Pidgeon. A
seareh and rescue mission attempt to save three aquan-
auts trapped by an undersea earthquake on the ocean floor
off the coast of Nova.Scotia. ,
WEDNESDAY, 11:00 P.M. -"THE SECRET LIFE OF AN
AMERICAN WIFE". Starring Walter Matthau, Anne Jack-
son, Edy Williams. Suburban wife of a harried press agent
begins to feel that life is passing her by when her husband
comments on their sexy neighbor.
