passed away Wednesday,
August 26, at Owen Sound
General and Marine
Hospital. She was in her 62nd
year and death followed a
lengthy illness.
Mrs. Snowdon was born
and educated in Wingham.
She was the former Marg-
aret Ellen Cruickshank, • a
daughter off the late George
and Sarah Cruickshank. She
married Mr. Snowden in
Wingham in April, 1948, and
he survives to mourn her
passing. Also surviving are
• two sons, Kenneth
at home and Keith of
Calgary; two sisters, Mrs,
Wilfred (Ivy) Riehl , of
Wingham and Mrs. Richard
(Sarah) Stephenson, Brusse
els; and one grandchild. She
was predeceased by three
brothers, Tom, Calvin and
Jim, and one sister, Mrs.
Jack (Elizabeth) Butler.

Silo filling time is rapidly
approaching and farmers
should keep in mind the
possibility of silo gas for-
ming during the process.
Nitrogen dioxide is one of
the most dangerous gases
around' the silo, It causes
inflammation -or the lungs
and can cause fatal fluid
collection in the lungs.
Farmers are warned to stay
out of the silo for at least two '
weeks after, filling, and to
run the blower 15-20 minutes
before entering. For safety.
use a self-contained brea-
thing apparatus.
To prevent silo gas from
'killing livestock. keep the
doors closed between the silo
room and the barn.
