There was a meeting with
the blind en Monday af-
ternoon.
On Tuesday under sunny..
skies ladies from second
floor, groused floor centre,
men's floor and first floor
north enjoyed their bar-
beque. They said the ham-
burgers and hot dogs were
especially delicious cooked
out in the fresh air.
The van was on the go all
day Wednesday with a trip to
Wingham in the morning
with Helen Fisher, Bill
Marsh, Wilfred Sanderson,
Al Macey, Norm Dupee,
Charlie Nicholson, Ales Dark
and Earl Durnin enjoying
the ride. Men from special
care took a ride to Seaferth
in the afternoon stopping to
have an ice cream cone
along the way.
A most restful time was
spent Thursday afternoon
listening to the organ music
of Ed Stiles. Mr. Stiles has
been coming . to Huronview
for ,many years .to play for
the residents.
Sympathy is expressed to
the families of Stan Goudie
and Amy heard.

Roy Kennedy presides
for seniors' meeting
FORDWICH — President
Roy Kennedy presided for
the meeting of the local
senior citizens held Wed-
nesday evening of last week.
He welcomed everyone and
the meeting opened with the
singing of "0 Canada''.
"Happy Birthday" was sung
to three members, with Miss
M. McElwain accompanying
at the piano.
Final plans were made for,
the seniors'. float in the
Howick 125th anniversary
parade. Members were also
reminded of the variety
concert in the Howick
Community Centre and the
nine o'clock.. ..registration for°
the school reunion Saturday
morning at Howick Central

The senior citizens will be
responsible for an Open
House in the Fordwich Hall
on Friday, September 4,
afternoon and evening,
where visitors to the an-
niversary and local residents
can meet and reminisce and
enjoy a social time together.
The program for the
meeting was presented by
Mrs, Eva Harris and her
group. Miss McElwain, and
Mrs. Ted Klaassen sang
.vocal•duets, accompanied'by
Mrs. Ron Livermore at the
piano. Readings were given
by Mrs. William Wilson and
Miss McElwain and a skit,
"Buying Eggs", was
presented by Mrs. Sam
Johnston, Mrs. A. Pit-
tendreigh and Mrs. Harris.'
Piano solos were played by
Glen Finlay whoalso played
for commmnity singing.,
A relay game was enjoyed,
with Mrs. Roy Simmons and
Mrs. Edgar Gedke as

A serious barn fire oc-
curred at the farm of Keith
Small on the outskirts of
Wroxeter about 4 a.m.
Sunday when barn, crop and
a number of pigs were lost.
Sympathy is extended to Mr.

piano and ' Gordon led
everyone in singing "It Is No
Secret". Next Sunday

gown. of white chiffon with
full sleeves, fitted bodice of
Swiss dot organza and
sweetheart neckline trim-
med with appliqued lace and
pearls. The same trim was
featured on the empire
waistline and lace edged the
skirt and attached train. The
bride. wore a „picture hat
trimmedwith chiffon and
Swiss dot orfanza and she
carried a dRaond-shaped
bouquet of pink roses and
white stephanotis.

and bridesmaids were
Annette Drennan of RR 3,
Lucknow, and Kathy Kerr,
niece of the bride„.„ off
Goderich. They wore gowns
of frosty rose polyester with
bodice and sleeves of mat-
ching Swiss dot organza.
Each attendant carried a
white lace fan trimmed with
pink roses and daisies.
Stan Stapleton of Walk-
erton was groomsman ,and
guests were ushered by Bob
Darling, Hanover, and Brad
Humphrey, Lucknow.
-A reception was held at the
Lucknow and District
Community Centre where
guests from Brantford, Kit-
chener, Owen Sound, Delhi,
Tiverton, England, Canning -
ton, Sutton, Stratford, Al-
berta and Kincardine were
received by the'bridal party -
and their families. The
bride's mother wore a
mauve polyester crepe dress
with a pleated skirt. The
groom's mother chose a
multi -shaded pink polyester
dress.
For travelling to North
Bay, the bride wore a crepe
dress featuring red design on
white. Her corsage was red
roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Readman
are residing in Wingham.
