Christian growth
is AWANA aim
The AWANA Club, of the
Wingham Bible Chapel
recently completed its first
full year of operation with 9,,i;
awardi night last week.
The club centres around a
Tuesday night meeting
designed for boy k and girls
from Kindergarten through
Grade 8. , The name
`AWANA' is taken- from a.
scripture passage and stands
for, "Approved Workmen
Are Not Ashamed". The
entire program is designed
to be God -honoring and
scripture -centred.
Since competition is a vital
nutrient in a child's physical
and mental growth, sports-
manship, friendship and
loyalty to the team is en-
couraged in the AWANA
game program. This com-
petition from game time is
carried over into Bible work
and challenges the club
member in scripture
memorization, as the main
purpose of the, club is ex-
pressed in Colossians 3:16:
"Let the word of Christ dwell
in you richly in all wisdom."
Boys and girls have time,
energy and abilities, and the
AWANA club provides an
outlet in a well-planned
weekly program with
Christian leadership and
association. All boys and
girls in these age groups are
welcome to become active
members when the program
begins again in September.
