Municipal Drain was

$6,634.85; Kirkby drain,
$12,566.19; and the Kelly
drain, $5,376.97.
An application for minor
exception to the Huron
County Tree Act was
received from Mary and
Maurice Douma, south half
of Lot 15, Con. 6. The request
was for the removal of 4.5
acres of trees to clear the
land for agricultural pur-
poses. Morris made not
comments or found no ob-
jections to the request.

library, which was closed in
Septefnb r, are being used in
the township shed.
A special meeting for all
ratepayers wishing to
discuss their property
assessments will be held at
the Township Hall on Dec. 9.

Lions' canvass
is successful
Nov. 25 marked the annual
candy cane drive for the
Wingham Lions Club. The
canes are made by han-
dicapped people -and sold by
various Lions clubs
throughout the area.
The Wingham club sold its
quota of 600 canes.
In other business the local
club will host the North 3
zone meeting on Thursday,
Dec. 4 at the Wingham Golf
and Curling Club at 7 p.m.
Ten Wingham members will
attend this meeting.
It was reported that
Clifford White' has been
transferred from the
Calgary Crowchild Lions
Club to the Wingham club.
The next meeting will be
held Dec. 9 and it will be the
regular Christmas meeting,
with guests.
The club president, Arun
Ghosh, and Lloyd `Casey'
Casemore, secretary, at-
tended a District A-9 cabinet
meeting in Mildmay on Sun-
day, Dec. 1. More than 150
Lions and ladies were
present.
Mr. Casemore reported as
sight chairman for A-9 and to
date there is $4,500 in
donations for the Lake
Joseph Camp for the Blind.
The Wingham Lions' can-
vass for CNIB is 'more than
81,800, the best year yet.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, the
Wingham Lions will visit the
Brookhaven and.Copelands
nursing homes and present
entertainment and Christ-
mas gifts to the residents.
