ENOUGH—The Howick Midgets pressed
hard for the tying goal in the final minutes of their game
against Brussels Sunday, but the Brussels team held on
to win 4-3 in an exciting finale, including killing off penal-
ties which saw them Iwo men short. Brussels now
advances into the championship final in the "D" division
of the Wingham Midget Hockey Tournament while
Howick was eliminated.

Windsor downed Colling-
wood 11-3 to advance to the
consolation final against
Dearborn, which beat the
Royals by a 6-3 Score. In the
final Windsor had little trouble
skating to n 7-" victory &spite
playing most of the second
period shorthanded, including
several spells when they had
only three skaters on the ice.
Waterloo thumped Toronto
Polaris 12-4 en route to a berth
in the championship final,
while Owen Sound had to come
back to beat Royal Oak'6-5 in
overtime in an exciting
match. -Owen Sound had led
the game 5-2, but Royal Oak
tied it in the third period and
almost won late in the game,
with a player ringing 'a
rebound off the post of a wide-
open net.
The D and C divisions also
opened play on the weekend,
with Brussels advancing to the
D championship game this
Sunday. Brussels downed
Teeswater 6-4 Friday night
and then beat Howick 4-3 in a
game that went right • to the
wire Sunday evening."
Howick had previously
beaten Blyth 7-5; Blyth then
edged Teeswater 5-4 to ad -
vane to the D consolation
final.
In the only game .played in
the C division, Durham
handed the Wingham Lions a
7-4 defeat to knock them out of

On March 10 we had,. a 'Fly
Up'. Some Brownies went up
to Guides. They were .Robin
Greenall,. Julie Leedham,
Suzanne Reid, Terri Shaw,
Carolyn $keiding, Tracy
Thynne, Shelley Trainor and
Jennifer Willis. They each
said a' little poem. Then Brown
Owl gave them their wings.:,

bookworm bookmark which
she made by herself.
Shelley Trainor and Terri
Shaw will receive a .prize for
having the most badges. Some
of the Brownies who left had
perfect attendance. They were

on March 12.

consolation.
The 11 a.m. winning rinks
