The Triple V Bible Class at
the United (Murch Sunday
Seal was organized last fall
with E. S. Copeland as
teacher. The class has grown
until they have a regular
attendance of over 50 each
Sunday. Last Sunday more
than 114 young men attended
the class.

The town of Aylmer has an
excellent scheme of solving
the transient. problem. A large
sign in the waiting room near
the police cells announces that
transients wanting meals

The staff of the Walker Store
held a dinner at the Brunswick
Hotel in honor of Miss Louise
Thompson who left on Sunday
for London. She was presented
with a set of boudoir lamps.
Pte. Willis Hall arrived
home from overseas. About 50
neighbors and friends
gathered at their home and
presented the Halls with a
picture and anne occasional
ehair.
Few planes pass over Wing -
ham and community these
days. Port Albert and Sky
Harbor are not the busy
training places that they were,
in- fact, they are training
airmen no more.
Alvin Currie, son of Cpl. and
Mrs. George Currie of East
Wawanosh, has joined active
forces and is at present
stationed at the Exhibition
Grounds, Toronto. Alvin is a

former member of the 99th
(R) Battery, RCA.
Friends of Mrs. Russel
Adams of Gorrie will be
pleased to learn she is making
a satisfactory recovery from
blood poisoning as well as a
strep germ caused from a pin
prick in her finger. The new
penicillin drug was pressed
into action and the wonder
drug has again been used
effectively.
Wroxeter congratulates
three local residents, Miss
Agnes Wearring, Miss
Margaret Wearring and Miss
Helen Sawtell, who received
honors in their music
examinations for piano in
Toronto. They are pupils of
Arnold Earls.
Mr. and Mrs. David Arm-
strong of Belgrave received
the sad word that their son,
Flight Sergeant Gibson Arm-
strong, is missing following
air operatiQrs

TWenty public school pupils
from Ashfield, Grey, Howick,
Morris, Turnberry, East
Wawanosh, West Wawanosh,
Blyth, Brussels and Wingham
were contestants in a spelling
bee held in the Wingham
Public School, Thelma
Gowing, Bluevale, a Grade 8
student at_S.S No 10. Morris,
was winner. Fred Stephenson
of Brussels was runner-up.
The young son of Mr. and
Mrs. Graham Work, RR 5,
Brussels, will have only one
quarter as many birthdays as
the rest of us. He was born in
Wingham General Hospital on
February 29 and will only
have a birthday every four
years.
