On Sunday the Royals again opened the scoring when Tom Black scored from Brnee Shoff and Neil Bieman. The Lancers added three goals to Lead Mitchell in playoffseries Wingham Legion Pee Wees opened a best of three Western Ontario Athletic Association playoff series with Mitchell last Tuesday, and came home with a 5-2 win. The second game was played in Wingham on Thursday and ended in a 4-4 draw. Quinn O'Donohue opened the scoring for Wingham in the opening game at 5:56 of the first, assisted by Doug McFarlan. Mitchell opened the second period with two goals, but its lead was short- lived as Tim Brown scored two in a row for Wingham, with Paul Robinson assisting the first. Dwayne. Jenkins and Jason Goodall chipped in assists on the second. At 2:23 of the'tiffrd period,.. Brown completed his hat trick unassisted. Wingham scored its final goal of the game at 13:23. Goodall picked up the marker - assisted by Jenkins and Brown. The second game of the series was played in the Lock - ridge ` Memorial Arena on Thursday and the teams fought to a 4-4 draw. Mitchell took an early lead, but Wingham tied the score three minutes later with McFarlan picking up the goal, assisted by O'Donohue and Paul Kenyon. Mitchell then scored with .less than 40 seconds left in the first frame. Wingham roared back with two goals in the second period; McFarlan assisted by Kenyon, and Tim Brown unassisted. Brown increased Wingham's lead to 4-2 at 11:11 of the third, assisted by Doug Stephenson. In its opening game Wingham tied with Harriston 4-4 and won in a shootout. In the second contest Wingham shutout Mitchell 3-0. It its first game on Saturday morning Wingham met a strong team from Harriston. Jeff Cameron started the scoringr Wingham, assisted by Paul Robinson. Harriston tied the score just 41 seconds later and the period ended tied 1-1. The first period was scoreless and it wasn't until 5:22 of the second that Quinn O'Donohue scored, assisted by McFarlan and Robinson. Mrs. Bonnie Hutchison and Mrs. Jacklin demonstrated a half knot for macrame hangers. Most of the girls got the hang of it. The Wing - ham Midgets' first game will be Friday at 8:45 p.m. against Durham. This year's tournament will schedule 32 teams in a 40 game series.
