first period goals for the Wingham PeeWees as the team continued its winning ways in a
game against Mitchell last Thursday.
Two more bigones add to
PeeWees winning streak
The Wingham Legion PeeWees
kept their winning streak alive
with a pair of onesided victories
last Thursday and Saturday. The
team followed up a 10-2 win over
Mitchell by demolishing
Harriston 12-0 in an exhibition
game.
Sean Bray opened the scoring
in the Mitchell contest, played at
the Wingham arena. He popped
in the puck following a scramble
around the net. 'Assists. went to
Jimmy Dennis and Mark Foxton.
Rob Strong increased the lead to
two with an unassisted goal and
then Doug Wood made it 3-0, with
an assist from Doug McFarlan.
Brett Cameron chipped in
i another goal ' with Steve
Nicholson assisting and .then
Nicholson scored with assists
going to Cameron and Doug
Stephenson.
The only goal of the second
period went to Nicholson, With
Stephenson and Cameron picking
up the assists.
In the third period Mitchell's

scoring. Tony Chaafe got the

PEEWEESDOWN HARRISTON
On Saturday the Legion
PeeWees drubbed Harriston 12-0
in eichibition play. Brett Caineron
opened the scoring with an assist
from Paul Robinson, Rob Strong
then scored an unassisted .goal;
Steve Nicholson scored from
Cameron and Dwayne Jenkins
increased the lead from Byron
Thompson.
In the second period Wingham
added four more goals. Cameron
scored twice for the hat trick, the
first from Thompson and Doug
Wood and the second from
Nicholson, Strong got another
unassisted goal and Wood got one
with McFarlan assisting.
Strong got the hat trick in the
third period, with an assist from
Cameron, Sean Bray chipped in
an unassisted goal and Mark
Foxton scored twice, the first
time from Strong and Bray and
the second unassisted. Rob
Schistad picked up the shutout
for Wingham, stopping at least
seven shots.. ,
Brownie Come!

We played some games. We
then Went in our Six group. The
money was collected. Afterwards
we made little stockings out of
some felt to hang on our tree. We
put some candy canes in the
stockings.
Snowy Owl (Mrs. Mill) helped
one group make bird feeders.
In Pnw Wow we talked about
our Christmas pyjama party. We
drew names to give other
Brownies a Christmas present.
Tracy Thynne received her
Craft badge.
Lions Midgets lose and tie
Last Thursday night the
Lucknow Midgets came to
Wingham and soundly defeated
the local club by a score of 10-3.
Grant Gnay opened the scoring
for Wingham before Lucknow
came back with four unanswered
goals to take a 4-1 lead at the end
of the first period.
The second period was also all
Lucknow as they scored twice
more toqake a 6-1 lead into the
third period.
Wingham started a comeback
early in the third with Dave
Nesbitt and Dan Martin scoring,
but Lucknow notched four more
late in the period to put the game
•well out of reach.
On Monday night the Lions
travelled to Mitchell with only
part of a hoekey team and still
managed ,a tie with a strong
kitthell club.
Mitchell took an early lead in
the first period but Grant Gnay
and Tom Remington scored
singles to put Wingham in front.
In the second period Mitchell tied
the score and then Dave Nesbitt
connected to give Wingham a 3-2
lead going into the third.
In the third period Mitchell tied
it and then took the lead with only
21 seconds left. Wingham pulled
its goalie and with just nine
seconds left Steve Morrison
scored to salvage a 4-4 tie.
With • only nine players that
night the Midgets turned in one of
their best performances of 'the
year.
The next home game is
Thursday, Dec. 21, against a
strong Seaforth club.

Country Ski Tour—Centennial
Program Saturday, Jan. 13. The
tour is open to novice and ex
perienced skiers alike, with a
tour from Blyth to Wingham, 21
km, or from Belgrave to
Wingham, 10 km. The fee of $6
per person includes free tran-
sportation, refreshments and a
Wingham Centennial Crested
toque.

between the Wingham Ironmen
Oldtimers and the ,present
Ironmen team at the arena here.
The Oldtimere' team .will be

for the Ironmen during the fi t

reasonable shape. .
