SKATING As in previous years, the Students' Council is giving students at Howick Central a chance to go skating on their gym days during the winter. The Students' Council has just com- pleted a successful fund raising campaign to pay for the ice time for school use of the community centre. We, the students, are very lucky because the com- munity centre is right beside the school. It is only a short walk to the community centre and we can enjoy skills taught by Mr. Livermore. We appreciate very much what the Students' Council is doing for us. -Kendra Robertson HEALTH NURSE Last week, two health nurses came to our school. They checked many of the children's ears and eyes. Their names are Mrs. Steepe and Mrs. Kreiger. They will be coming again soon to test the kindergarten children and those who were away. We hope this type of program helps clear up any difficulties as a result of hearing or vision prob- lems.. -Wendy Langendoen GOOD STUDY METHODS WEEK Last week was "Good Study Methods Week" as Kindergarten to Grade 6 report cards are to go home 1978, 11, 24.
