marker ended the period at
6-3 in Bothwell's favor.
Brussels came back strong
in the third period to score
three unanswered goals, all
from the stick of McArter.

The Wingham Men's Open
Bonspiel was held last
Saturday. Both local and out-
of-town teams participated
in the one -day event. First
prize in the 9 o'clock draw
went to the Bruce Cox rink
from Listowel. Team mem-
bers were John Chapman,
Doug Morrison and Hugh
Love.
The Earl Fitch team from
Belmore was second in the
early draw.
The second draw was won
by a team skipped by Mike
Sheppard of Chatham,
consisting of team members
John Schenk, Ted Brewster
and Ron Knight from
Wingham. Second place
went to the John Nixon rink
of Belgrave.
Murray McKague skipped
his team of Neil Edgar,
David Eadie and Jim ,Mc-
Burney to victory in the third
draw. The Dave Bender rink,
also of Wingham; was second
in this draw.
A door prize; donated by
Green's Meat Market of
Brussels scored the only
goal of the third period to
pick up the 4-2 victory. Allen
scored the insurance marker
with assists going to Fritz
and McArter. The boys
played a sound defensive
game of hockey in front of
goalie Jeff McGavin.
The fifth and deciding
game of the series will be
played tonight, Wednesday,
at 8:30p.m.
minute overtime period. It
was a heart -breaking loss for
the Wingham boys as the
entire team played well,
especially goalie Andrew
Mann who turned in his best
game of the year.
In its second game the
Wingham team lost again by
a 2-1 count, that time to
Saltfleet. Walker scored the
lone Wingham marker on a
beautiful unassisted in-
dividual effort in the first
period. Saltfleet scored two
goals early in the first
period, but that was all they
could put behind Fryfogle for
the rest of the game. The
Wingham goalie seemed to
get stronger as the game
went on and Saltfleet's
goalie, John Jackson, made
an excellent save in stopping
Walker on a penalty shot in
the opening period.
Fryfogle returned the
favor by stopping Paul
Beals' shot in the second.
The loss . eliminated
Wingham from further
action.
