Tractor sales up in January There were about 10 per cent more farm tractors sold in January of this year than in the same month in 1983, according to , statistics released by the, Canadian Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute. Sales of self-propelled combines and large balers also rose significantly, however other types of farm equipment were down. The biggest increase in tractor sales was in small tractors, under 40 horse- power, which were up by 37 per cent. Tractors betv3een 40 and 99 h.p. were up by 31 per cent, while sales of large tractors 109 h.p. and over fell by about 23 per cent. Sales of large balers were up by 21 per cent in January, while sales of self-propelled combines rose by 37 per cent.
