months' vacation in Florida

Robertson, Goderich, were
Sunday guests with their
cousin, Mrs. Allan Griffith,
the occasion being Jim's
birthday.
Mrs. Harvey Reidt, who
accompanied three friends
from Wingham on a bus tour
to Winterhaven and Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, for 19
days, returned home at the,
weekend. They visited other
cities and towns as well and
she reports the scenery and
weather were fabulous.
Mr. and Mrs. Reg Watson
visited their son and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Watson,
Toronto, enroute home from
Florida.
Sympathy is extended to
Mr. and Mrs. Vern Clark and
family on the death of a
brother and uncle, James
Clark of Toronto, formerly of
this village.

Peter Isabelle, Mississauga,
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Milford Campbell last
Tuesday.
Mrs. Ron Gilbert and
Krista of Harriston visited
Sunday at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olive'

SCHOOL OPERETTA --The Grade 7 and 8 students
from the Wingham Public School. are presenting the
operetta "The Truth About Cinderella" this Thursday
evening for parents and friends at the school. Kira
Stuckey plays Cinderella, the young woman who
escapes her life of working in kitchens and marries a
handsome prince.

The "Goforth Players"
were then introduced by'
Mrs. Nethery with a reading
from I Corinthians, chapter
13, continuing the love
theme. The main character
of the play had planned a
valentine tea but her plans
were soon altered by the
death of a friend's mother
and an accident involving
the daughter of another
friend. Instead of a valentine
tea, the ladies spent their
time planning how to help
these friends in need and put
their love into action.
Mrs. Don Montgomery and
Mrs. Nethery sang "Love
Lifted Me" and `I Am So
Glad That Jesus Loves Me",
accompanied by Mrs. Hugh
Clugston. Mrs. Gertie Tiffin
led a short Bible study and
closed the program with
prayer.
Mrs. Raymond Neill and
Mrs. Robert Arbuckle
conducted the business
portion of the meeting.. Mrs.
Robert McKague and Mrs.
Robert Campbell informed
the ladies of the need for help
with the upcoming Synodical
to be held in St. Andrew's in
April. A social time followed.
WI discusses
world affairs
BELGRAVE — The world
affairs meeting of the WI
was held at the WI Hall and
began with a pot -luck dinner
at 12:30 p.m. at which the
members entertained their
families and friends.
The president, Mrs. Jim
Hunter, welcomed everyone,
"0 Canada" was sung and
grace was said by the Rev.
John G. Roberts. Following a
bountiful meal, the roll call
was answered by stating,
what we as individuals can
do to improve the world.
Mrs.. Hunter 'unveiled a
barn board 'painting by Don
Vair of Belgrave, and dedi-
cated . it in memory of the
late Mrs. Willard Arm-
strong: The collection and
pennies for friendship were
taken.
The program convener,
Mrs. Garner Nicholson, in-
troduced Mr, and Mrs.
George Michie who showed
slides and gave a very inter-
esting and informative com-
mentary on their trip to the
Yukon. Mrs. Nicholson
thanked them on behalf of all
for sharing their journey
with us.
The business meeting be-
gan with the reading of the
minutes, the financial state-
ment and the correspon-
dence. The WI will cater to
the East Wawanosh Federa-
tion of Agriculture dinner on
March 13, at 12 o'clock noon,
and the Morris Federation of
Agriculture on March 19, at
7:30 p.m.

material for the Huron Coun-
ty Historical atlas. The
meeting closed with "The
Queen", Mrs. Norman Coul-
tes pianist.
BRUSSELS LEGION WINNERS—Winners in the public
speaking contest hosted by the Brussels Legion branch
last week were Scott Johnston, first, and Will Perrie,
second, in the junior division and Corrinna Stephenson,
first, and Lowell Winger, second, in the senior division.
Les Brewer and Don Blenkhorn of the Legion presented
plaques to the winners, while all competitors received
cheques from the Legion.
