they lost the first game 11-15, the
Mustangs rallied to win the next
two, 15-9 and 15-10 to advance to
the championship.
In the championship, the Mus-
tangs went up against John Die-
fenbaker Secondary School of
Hanover. JDSS won the first
game, 15-2, but the Mustangs
came back to win the next two 15-
12 and 15-7 to claim the tourna-
ment title.
Mustang coach Audrey Bos said
she was surprised at the team's
victory because two starters were
absent and another was late in ar-
riving.
She said that the younger
players really came through when
they were given the opportunity to
play.
Coach Bos said Jeff Martin and
Greg Montgomery played. She
noted that John Martin,was set-
ting, due to the absencof Matt
Smith, but he did a good job set-
ting, as well as at hitting.
his first of the night from Justin
Black and Marks.
Ripley stuffed one by Kate
Lane who had replaced Needham
at the half way point, but Skinn
put it out of reach at 11:16 with
assists to Anderson and Black.
Coach Larry Lane should be im-
pressed with the team's. first effort
of the season. There was good
hustle by all, and Wingham clearly
outplayed Ripley, dominating the
game throughout. With an empha-
sis on fundamentals and positional
play, we're all looking forward to
an exciting season.
Lane is assisted by Dianne
Grummett, Bevan Lindsay, and
Cathy Skinn.
