YOUR BIRTHDAY THIS WEEK
The next 12 months:
Nothing ever seems to move as fast.
as you want it to. The next two
months are no exception. But be
patient, good things are right around
the corner. Career improvements
accelerate fast over the winter
months. It's almost hard to keep up.
Put extra in effort at work around the
holidays. Your flirtatious nature
leads you to a spring romance. But
that flirtatious nature could keep you
from lasting romance. Be careful.
Family plays a bigger role than usual
as summer rolls around. A sibling or
other close family member will be
reaching a major milestone.
Marriage is likely.

Victrolas featured in new room
at Old Tyme Radio Centre
BELGRAVE - The Old Tyme Ra-
dio Centre has a new room.
The Victrola Room has been
opened since the beginning of Au-
gust. The room is equipped with
Victrolas from the 1910-1916 era.
The Old Tyme Radio Centre is
owned and operated by Gary and
Nellie Clayton.
Gary said the three Vicrolas are
a Heintzman Sonora from 1916,
and two Edisons. One is a cylinder
unit from .1913, and the other is
from 1915.
He said that they moved to their
present location in 1992. Gary said
the Victrola Room used to be the
feed room in the Ross Anderson
Hardware store which was located
on the main street of Beigrave for
40' years.
Up in the second floor of the
building are some 500 radios that -
have yet to be restores, and some
12,000 tubes.
"There's enough parts hwere to
last for 100 years,"he said.
The Claytons are members of
London Vintage Radio Club, the
Michigan Antique Radio Club, and
the Antique Radio Club of Illinois.
As well as resoring and repair-
ing old radios, Gary also restores
antique automobile radios from
the 1930s to the 1960s.
He said that he does do restora-
tion for others, but he won't do
any repair work unless the cabinet
is in good condition.
Gary said the oldest radio in his
store is from the 1920s - a Rog-
ers batteryless radio from 1927.
He noted that many of, the radi-
os also have shortwave as well as
an AM dial.
"We can listen to the BBC out
of England," said Gary.
The Old Tyme Radio Cent0
also has plastic radios from the
40s, 50s, and 60s.
The OId Tyme Radio Centre is
open six days a week from 9 a.m.
to 6 p.m.
Barn
held over
for
additional
week
With two weeks to go before the
first preview on. Aug. 30, Janet
Amos has announced that He Won 't
Come In From The Barn will be
held over an additional week until
Sept. 16 due to excellent advance
ticket sales!
Written by Ted Johns and direct-
ed by Paul Thompson, this hilari-
ous comedy set in Huron County
features a dynamic cast including
Janet Amos, Ted Atherton, Paul
Braunstein, Eric Coates, Andrew
Croft, Jerry Franken, Micheal
Healey, and Ted Johns. The set de-
signer is Glenn Davidson, costume
designer is Judy -Peyton Ward, and
the lighting director, Michael
Kruse.
Alymer Clarke (portrayed by
Ted Johns) first took refuge in his
barn in 1977 to escape the forces
of change and early retirement. Re-
sisting the pressure of his son to
expand and modernize, the advice
of his doctor to relax, and the
temptations of his wife to visit the
Old Country, he holed up with his
cows, chickens, and pigs.
Enjoy Alymer's views on poli-
tics, farming, and the foibles of the
90s. An agricultural comedy for
cynical times.
""He Won't Come From the
Barn" is a must see for 'anyone
who has a love for farming, who
has ever had to work with their fa-
ther or children, or for anyone who
simply enjoys a good laugh" Kelly
Daynard, New Hamburg, the Inde-
pendent, August 17, 94.
New room...Gary Clayton of the OId Tyme Radio Centre in Belgrave now has a Victrola
Room at his business in Belgrave. There are three Victrolas from the 1910-1916 era on display.
