first pme of the season en route to
an, 8-0 victory. Scott Inwood opened
the scoring with his first of the year
from Matthew Merkley and Jamie
Good.
Scott McPherson added to the
lead before the end of the first peri-
od when he converted a Tyler Fluff -
maxi pass.
The Optimists took a 3-0 lead -late
in the second period as they scored
' short-handed, Brian Sinclair from
Steve Carter and Jeff Leitch.
The third period saw the Opti-
mists really come to life, adding
five more unanswered tallies —
Peter Irwin got goal number few:,
unassisted and McPherson notched
his second, again from Huffman.
Cocci picked up Wingham's sec-
ond short-handed goal from Jay
Leitch and Inwood, then Carter
added a pair, the first from Luke
Lockridge and the second from Jeff
Leitch.
Robert Warwick, although not
tested frequently, did come up with

Saturday morning, 2-0, to Howick.
Howick opened the scoring
halfway through the first period on
a goal by David Keil assisted by
Richard Watson.
'The game stayed 1-0 for Howick
thmughout the second and for most
of the third period before Howick
scored the insurance marker with
two minutes left in the game. Ryan
Ruttan scored on an assist by David
Keil.
PeeWees advanced to the conso-
lation final by beating the Harris-

a 2-1 lead.

From then on, it was a never-end-
ing Listowel attack- against Gibson
in net. Listowel was ahead 3-2 by
the end of the second period, and
