Lee Bray from "Hanging by a Thread" craft shop in Wingham and Mary Lou Cameron, who hand paints clothes and jewellery, each demonstrated their specialties to the members present. Mrs. Bray showed the group how figures cut from fabrics can be per- manently applied to clothes such as sweatshirts or blouses. A fairly sim- ple method, using the correct mate- rials, can result in very attractive, unique additions to an ordinary sweatshirt. Mrs. Cameron displayed her hand painted sweatshirts, T-shirts, earrings, pins, and necklaces, all beautifully done in a variety of colours and shapes. Many Chri- mas items were available, and Mrs. Cameron actually completed a painting on a Christmas sweatshirt that evening. Each item is individu- ally designed without use of pat- terns or stencils. As she painted, Mrs. Cameron related the experi- ences leading up to her craft busi- ness today. Conveners Mary Hall and Marg Grieg thanked the ladies for attend- ing and presented them with a gift of appreciation. Roll Call for the evening was "show or tell a simple Hallowe'en costume or idea." In other business, the Fashion Show Committee reported that •a profit was realized from this fund- raising event. There were some changes suggested for further events such as this, and will be noted in the final written report. Other reports made were regard- ing•the 1989 JWIO fall conference held recently in Owen Sound, an update on the Hallowe'en Dance, and the final ,outcome of the dis- play at the Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair. \\4 r a 4 AA SHERYL HANULA of Wingham received her F.
