Ella and Tom Potts of Listowel
entertained their family at a turkey
dinner on the occasion of their 60th
wedding anniversary. Mrs. Jean
Edgar attended.
Mrs. Alma Hetherington and
Mrs. Betty Graber, Chris, Curtis and
Philip of Brussels, visited a couple
of weeks with Jim and Beth Hether-
ington of Hullsville. Cliff and Ann
Hetherington, Meghan and Alec of
Edmonton, also visited at the same
home.
Wilmer and Marion Ross of Cam-
bridge visited Saturday with Mrs.
Irving Toner. Mrs. Tom McPherson
of Teeswater and Mrs. Peter Harri-
son of Harriston also visited at the
same home.
Mrs. Lois Siefert of Cambridge
visited Wednesday with Mrs. Shel-
don Mann.
Bill and Marilyn Carswell,
Kendra, Stacey and Andrea of St.
Clements, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Max Bell and also vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Car-
swell of Fordwich. Kendra, Stacey

NEW BREED?—Two orphaned kittens found on the side of the
road in Wingham found an adoptive mother in "Gidget," a french
poodle belonging to June Edgar. According to Mrs. Edgar, Gidget
had lost a puppy just two days before the kittens showed up, and
was happy to take over the role of mother.

celebrate
100 years
About 40 friends and neighbors
showed up for a party Sunday to
celebrate the 100th Anniversary of
the Johnston farm in Grey Town-
ship, and the 60th birthday of its
owner, John Johnston of Spruce
Haven Farms, R.R. 2, Bluevale
Balloons and streamers decorated
the farm for the occasion, and
guests enjoyed an afternoon of
socializing followed by dinner.
John Johnston has lived on this
farm since he was a child, and
remained on the farm after his mar-
riage. He and his wife Leona have
two children, Karen and Kevin.
Both attended Sunday's celebra-
tion.
Guests came from Shelburne,
Dorchester, Denfield, Ripley, Blyth,
Brussels, Wingham, Woodstock and
several other places.
We all think we are exceptional;
and are surprised to find ourselves
criticized just like anyone else.

Tiffany of Tiverton visited Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. George Keil.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mundell have
returned from Thunder Bay where
they attended the United Senior
Citizens of Ontario convention held
at Lakehead University. More than
500 attended, including five bus-
loads from Southern Ontario. They
enjoyed a circle tour of Lake Supe-
rior.
Mr. and. Mrs. Bill Bushnell and
Mrs. Judy Marshall of Mississauga
visited Miss Margaret Dane, Mrs.
Lorne Walker and Mrs. Alex Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Melville Beecroft of
Barrie attended the Beecroft family
picnic in Listowel park and visited
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hector
Hamilton recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Graham,
Meaghan and Laura of Listowel,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Alex Graham ,
on Sunday.
Mrs. Edith Hayden visited Satur-
day at the home of her niece, Mrs.
Colleen Schwindt of Clinton.

together was enjoyed. On Wednes-
