FIRE PROTECTION
Members of Hanover Town
Council came to Wingham in
February of 1901 to inspect the
town's system of waterworks for
fire protection. Hanover had suf-
fered a loss with the Knechtel Fur-
niture Factory fire and were
installing a waterworks system. It
was felt they would go a long way
before finding a cheaper or better
system than Wingham had.
