Grade 8 youngsters took in a ball game at the domed stadium. (What's News Photo) PRESCHOOL STORYTIME On Thursday afternoons, preschoolers have leen coining to the resourcecentre at our soboal for -storytime. They have learned about monkeys, played singing 'games, talked to the "Curious George" and "Wrinkles" puppets, made crafts and had cookies and juice. The boys and girls also - listened to stories about monkeys that like spaghetti and monkeys that jump on beds. We hope these children will enjoy coming to our Kindergarten this September. Grade 2 The Grade 2 class recently went to the Wawanosh Nature Centre. The children enjoyed a stream study, finding crayfish, minnows and eggs, just to name a few. They also made food chains, —Alicia Potter, Robin Sanders, Amanda Black Grade 3-4 Our class had a fairytale play. We are going to our teacher's farm to camp overnight. Grade 7-8 On June 8, Mrs. Graham came to help our class with tie -dying for the school fair. We recently went to Toronto on our class trip. Wevisited the Royal Ontario Museum and Canada's Wonderland. We are preparing for the two - pitch tournament to be held at Turnberry. A volunteer -apprecia- tion day was held last Tuesday as part of our Quest program. We also have started working on our school fain work and are doing "Think Tank", a creative thinking game as part of our English pro- gram. The Wingham Advance -Times Mrs. Nicholson's Kindergarten classes are looking forward to going swimming with their reading buddies. The pupils are also work- ing hard to get their alphabet scrap- books finished before the holidays. Kelly Kerr Grade 3 pupils are winding up their social studies projects to be ready with a poster and oral pre- sentation for each child. We are enjoying a large display of pioneer Nineteen tables at shoot party _ Nineteen tables were in play at the Wingham Legion Hall on Mon- day night. High lady was Nell Johnston and high man Cliff John- ston. John King had the most shoots. Low prizes went to Irene Smyth and Marie Chittick (playing as a man). Shanda Mitchell SPECIAL EVENTS Last week Mr. Bowyer and Mrs. Schedler's class held an assembly about our Environment and what we can do to save it. Their play was about the blue boxesand what peo- ple use them for. The Grade 8 stu- dents travelled to the North Huron Two -pitch tournament last Thurs- day. The grade 7 students have also returned from their Quebec -Ottawa trip. Tharen Keil NO SIDEWALKS By a vote of 53 to 42, Teeswater defeated a bylaw to provide grano- lithic sidewalks in the village in March of 1900. The majority of peo- ple in Teeswater, it seemed, did not want good sidewalks.
