In spite of the cold and rain, 12 teams entered the tournament from Brussels, Clinton, Harriston, Atwood, Lucknow and Wingham. Second place finisher was Jim Coultes of Brussels, while Don McLeod of Harriston finished in third place. The consolation prize went to Bill Forsyth of Wingham. The funds go toward covering the athlete's day-to-day expenses while he trains in Tor- onto for several upcoming track and field meets. Peewees win two against Brussels Wroxeter sticks were back on- stream with a home -field win of 14- 2 against Brussels in PeeWee soft- ball action earlier this month. Wroxeter made 14 runs on 10 hits with two errors, scoring four times in the first inning, three in the third, and seven runs in the sixth. D. Win- temute pitched five innings, giving up one earned run on three hits. He had five strike -outs and three walks. Bares downed by the Browns Shoppers' Drug Mart Bluevale Bares went down 8-5 to Brown's Buddies from Trowbridge last week in softball action. Bluevale Bares were up 4-2 over the Buddies until the sixth inning when Brown's pulled off six runs due to several Bares errors. This week's cash draw winners are Kelly Phillips and Betty Hewitt. Wet weather forces horseshoe play inside It was a cold, wet day on June 10 when horseshoe enthusiasts gath- ered at the Wingham Sportsmen's Club. All games were played inside because of the weather. Double -round games of 30 points were enjoyed. Alex Boa of Goderich and Fred Wickens, Kitchener, were first with eight wins and a plus of 31. Harold Carter of Goderich and Eugene Kuntz, Walkerton, were second with seven wins and a plus of 64. Third-place winners were Jack Arnold, Mildmay and Ivan Rivett, Goderich, five wins and a plus of 80. Jack Ward of Monkton and, Her- man Fisher of Benmiller were fourth, four wins and a plus of 114, while Harold Pridham of Staffa and Leon Russell, Wingham, were fifth at three wins and a plus of 140. Rounding out the scoring in sixth place were Ivan Gardner and Lorne Hamilton, both of Wingham, three wins and a plus of 102.
