Stewart Simmons, 83, of 105 Nor- man St., Stratford, died Friday, June 9, at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Howick Township, Mr. Simmons wasa'tson of the late Charles Simmons and the former Sarah Elizabeth Underwood. He had been a resident of Stratford and area for the past 25 years. During the Second World War, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 8, Stratford. Surviving are three sons, Wesley of Wingham, Joe of Sarnia and Emerson, London; four daughters, J. Elizabeth Flewelling of Guelph, Helen Neff of Kitchener, Shirley Wise of Walkerton and Shelda Scha- effer, Stratford; a sister, Mrs. Mar- garet Porter of Sardis, B.C.; a friend, Gladys Rohfrietsch of Stratford; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grand- children. He was predeceased by one son, Charles Andrew, brothers and a sister. There was no funeral home visi- tation or service. The ,body was bequeathed to the School of Anato- my, University of Western Ontario.
