We are glad to have these children visiting the classroom to see what Kinder- garten is really like. The Kindergarten pupils have been talking about the story The Gingerbread Man" and have enjoyed eating gingerbread men. They also have been painting and making paper gingerbread men. —Kelly Kerr Mrs. MacRae's class had lots of fun and hard work at field day. They are doing "Creepy Crawler" activities before they go to the Wawanosh Conservation Area. While there they will explorethe stream in the "Boots, Bubbles and Bugs" program. —Shari Mundell Miss Turner's Grade 2 is starting a new unit on dinosaurs and is going to do research on the differ- ent kinds of dinosaurs. In math, they're doing facts of 19. They also are studying the globe and learning where things are locat- ed through labelling and making maps. They enjoyed track and field day. Kerri McGrath This week in science, Mr. Lind- say's class is making hot air bal- loons out of tissue paper. They are hoping to launch them this week. The class also is keeping personal writing folders which are due Fri- day. Nine people received an 'A' in the recent science test. — David Carter Mrs. Schedler's Grade 5s enjoyed meeting their penpals and had fun, 4f`P''"'",%,:gira•tig,nw, ge32:4 at the science centre. Their tra and field day was successfuL In te June, they are presenting a play on ecology. They are busy working on it now., —Andrea Gauld Mr. Shaw's Grade 8 class has been busy with its Quest unit. We also have, been very busy studying for both math and science tests. We recently took part in the school track and field day and enjoyed it. We are starting a new unit in geog- raphy entitled "The Pacific Coast Region". —Andrea Plumb During the months of January to March, there was a "Values, Mu:- ences and Peers" program going on at our school. It was taught by Con- stable Tom Creeden of the town police force. Some topics covered in the pro- gram were: peer pressure, shoplift- ing and the Young Offenders' Act. They had a gentleman from the Bluewater Centre at Goderich as a guest. He presented some slides and talked to the students about the centre. They also had two ladies from Zehrs who are in charge of security. The finale was a box -social lunch, followed by a skit presented by the students on the above-mentioned topics. Money raised frcim the box lunch goes toward the VIP trip to Canada's Wonderland on June 16. A very special thanks goes out to Const.
