Sympathy is extended to the fam- ily of the late Mrs. Mabel McArthur. Mrs. Mauna Squires of Sherwood Park, AIberta, spent a week with her mother, Mrs. Edith Hayden and other relatives and were guests at the Watt-Ackersviller wedding in Stratford on Saturday. Mrs° Watt is a granddaughter of Mrs. Hayden. Mr. and Mrs° Raymond Gowdy and Mr. and Mrs° Bruce Robertson were guests at the wedding of Sher" ri Martin and Norman Watson on Saturday at Strathroy. Mr° and Mrs. Lloyd Faust spent a couple of days at the home of Dr. and Mrs. David Charters of Sharon. Attending were his parents, Flower service held at Gorrie GORRIE—A potuck supper pre- ceded the Gorrie United Church annual flower service of the Sunday School, held Sunday at 7 p.m. • Mrs. Robin Bolander, superinten- dent, led the opening devotions and introduced The Proclaimers, harmonica players from Kitchener. Everyone enjoyed their music and singing: The offering was received by Dale Schefter, Michael Greig, Bradley Taggart and Greg Lee and dedicated by Mrs. Bolander. The church was attractively decorated with beautiful flowers, Mrs. Jim Schefter presented the superintendent and each Sunday School teacher with a red rose in appreciation. She also thanked the harmonica players and presented a gift. a nF Mr. and Mrs. Tom Day and his brother, John, of Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Laidlaw visited in Cheapside Sunday with relatives and Mrs. Laidlaw attend- ed a baby shower there for her great-niece. On Tuesday evening they visited with Mr° and Mrs. Leroy Winger and family of Ethel and celebrated a grandson's birth- day. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Inglis and Dr. and Mrs. Allan Inglis of Gibsons, B.C., visited with Tom Inglis, Mrs. Pauline Adams and other relatives in the area. Mrs. Jeanie Sahli, Brian and Nicole visited recently with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Simp- son. Mildred McClenaghan and John McKinnon visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Welhausser of Ariss. Mildred attended the alum- nae dinner for past nursing gradu- ates. Mrs. Welhausser is a former classmate at Guelph General Hos- pital. They called on Mrs. Daisy Connell, who is now residing in the Elliott Nursing Home in Guelph and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Connell of Ariss. No win- dow panes,light bulbs, ceramics, por- celain or china. Food cans must be rinsed out. . Pop cans are acceptable as is. Please flatten as much as possible. 3. Friends and neighbors gathered at the home of Mrs. Alma Hether- ington to extend best wishes to Bruce Hutchison and his bride, Mary Koeflag, on their upcoming marriage. Mary Lou Ruttan read the address, welcoming mi n g Mary to the neighborhood and numerous chil- dren presented the miscellaneous gifts.
