JF Culturama
Rob Enders, Linda Axtgnann and
Anne Alton of Wingham were among
the many Huron County 'Junior
farmers participating in the recent
Junior Farmers' Association of
Ontario "Culturama".
Culturama included one -act plays,
public speaking, poetry writing,
poetry recitation, spelling bee, slide
presentation, debating and "Far-
mers Feud".
Each county in Ontario is entitled
to one entry in each event and this
year, Huron County Junior Farmers
competed in four events: the
spelling bee, one -act play, poetry
writing and poetry recitation.
Mr. Enders represented Huron
County in the spelling bee com-
petition at the event which drew
Junior Farmers from across Ontario
to display their cultural talents at
Talbot College in London. Ms.
Axtmann competed in the poetry
recitation category while Ms. Alton
was entered in the poetry writing
competition.
In the one -act play "Moon Up",
Huron County actors were Robert
Essery of RR 1, Centralia; Dianne
van Vliet of RR 1, Walton; Robert
Hunking of RR 1, Auburn; and Jeff
Hearn of Clinton. Paul Hoggarth of
RR 1, Kippen was responsible for
props and audio.
Mr. Hearn was named best actor
id the competition while Mr. Essery
received honorable mention for that
award.

BANQUET--The=Howick Athletic Association recenity held a ban-
quet to recognize its many athletes. These athletes and the awards
they won are: (back from left): junior ringette, Stacey Prentice, most
valuable player; Crystal Jacobson, most improved player; Amanda
TEACHERS HONORED Ken Wood, F. E. Madill Secondary
School principal, left, and teacher Marc Forrest received Excellence
in Education Awards at the Celebration of Excellence Dinner last
week in Holmesville. The awards banquet, sponsored jointly by
District 45 Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation and the
Huron County Board of Education, honors those who have, by.their
hard work and diligence, demonstrated excellence in education
within the county's public secondary school system. 1
