Work is well underway on master master plan and study The Wingham and Area Recreation Master Planning Committee has been Meeting since September to do the ground work for the recreation master plan, which should be completed by November. The committee's goal is to examine the leisure needs of the people in Wingham and area and develop a five-year plan to guide town council's decisions concerning recreational development. The plan will be available as well for the township councils of Morris, Turnberry and East Wawanosh for their use. Wingham Town Council requested the master plan be completed and, if necessary, a feasibility study. Without this ground work, the town would not be eligible for any provincial grants for new recreation facilities. A master plan ev luates the existing supply of cultural and recreational programs, facilities and open spaces. It assesses present and future demand to formulate practical guidelines for the provision of cultural and recreational opportunities. At this point, the terms of reference have been completed and have been accepted by the Wingham Recreation Board and approved by Wingham Town Council. The provincial grant has been applied for and the committee is waiting for a reply. Anyone requiring further in- formation should contact the recreation department at 274 Josephine Street or telephone 357- 1208.
