Listowel 291-1660 Mount Forest 323-1550 Milverton Wingham 505.8921. 357-2320 SELL -Ai -TI -10N This one's got it 1 THE A rather nasty follow-up to the story about "Dallas" two columns ago brings to light the fact that Donna Reed, Who played Miss Ellie last season, has filed suit against Lorimar Productions for replacing her with the original Miss Ellie, Barbara Bel Geddes. Bel Geddes was not in good health last year after having undergone heart surgery. She was, replaced by Reed but now, after a year's rest, .Bel Geddes is able to return and is ,presently filming the new season of productions. Reed is suing the production company for more than seven million dollars, charging breach of contract. She claims she has no idea why she was "let go",explaining that she performed her role well and was never told her acting ability was not up to par. Surely this professional actress could not have been so naive that she thought she would be kept on the payroll if Bel Geddes was .able return. Bel Geddes was and still is the only Miss Ellie and, though her acting ability could not be disputed, Reed never quite filled her shoes. Ironically, the entire fiasco is like a scene straight out of "Dallas" itself. It has,' already caused man hard feelings and will continue to hurt the people involved. It is with regret that the Stratford Festival has an- nounced that the concert by Melissa Manchester, scheduled for July 15, has been cancelled. .One of today's top performers, Manchester has had to cancel all her summer touring plans because she will be recording a new album.
