Wilford .Clipperton at- tended graduation exercises last Saturday for his grand- son, Jim Rutter. The national convention of the Women's Institute is being held this week in London. Congratulations are ex- tended to Michelle Fraser and Stephen Tiffin who went on a bus trip of Lucknow Grade 8 pupils last Tuesday to Ottawa and returned last Friday. Cindy Moore moved June 1 to an apartment in Wingham where she will be near her work. Congratulations are ex- tended .to all our high school students who did not have to write any examinations. W. Beecroft. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Elliott of Brussels were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott. Jeffrey, Leslie and Matthew ac- companied their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott were in London last weekend and visited Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laidlaw, Jason and Michelle and with Mn. and Mrs. David Elliott. Last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Carl McC1e'naghan visited Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DesRoches in London and visited Mary Johann at University Hospital. On the way home they visited Mrs. Eileen Parker at Exeter. Mrs. Mary Lou Glover of Sarnia visited Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Irwin and Cody of Lucknow also helped celebrate the oc- casion. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Falconer and Jackie celebrated Father's Day with Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falconer. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ducharme of Goderich, visited Sunday with Mr. and " Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw for Father's Day. Recently Mr: and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw were in London to visit with Mr. arid Mrs. Tom Vannus and their young grandchild Lauren. , MRS. CINDY 4OHANN Belmore Personals The second annual Huron Food Fest was held last Saturday at the Seaforth arena. The festival featured many different types of food grown or produced in Huron County, from fruit to meat. Ron and Sharon Douglas represented the pork in- dustry and Walter and Mary Renwick represented the sheep industry. The Sacrament of Baptism took place Sunday at the McIntosh United Church. The children baptized were 9Sarah Jane Harkness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Harkness and Adam John Bushell, sofa of Mr. and Mrs. William Bushell. Mrs. Al Anderson and daughter Jenny of Calgary are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Jeffray and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Elliott hosted a family gathering for - the Jeffray relatives. The Belmore Bulldogs played the Bluevale Jelly Bellies last Thursday evening and won by a count of 20-12. Leitch -Dickson vows exchanged at Belmore The Belmore Presbyterian Church was the scene of \ a prettyr,evening wedding May 25 when Mary Dickson and Doug Leitch, both of London, exchanged vows at 7 p.m. Their vows were heard by Rev. Larry Welch. A choir composed of 11 of the bride's cousins provided special music for the oc- casion, singing "Perhaps Love", "Sunrise, Sunset" and "The Greatest Gift of All", accompanied by Evelyn Dickson at the organ, Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dickson, Belmore and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken i Leitch of Wingham. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and wore an ivory, liquid -satin, cocktail -length gown with Venetian lace details, a modified blouson, long, full sleeves and a stand-up collar. The bridal gown was handmade by the bride's mother. Brenda CeWon of Dor- chester was matron, of honor and she wore a cocktail - length, peach, polyester - crepe dress with back pleats, also made by the bride's mother. John Leitch of Wingham was his brother's best man and guests were ushered by Don Edgar of Wingham and Bill Kennedy of Toronto. Guests were received at the Belmore Community Centre and greeted by the bride's mother in a street - length mauve dress with an orchid wrist corsage. The groom's .mother chose a street -length 'dress of sand - colored crepe with a mat- ching hat and green orchid wrist corsage. The honored guest was Mrs. Jessie McKague of Wingham, grandmother of the groom.. Out-of-town guests came from Toronto, London, Cambridge, Kit- chener, Waterloo and Cobalt. They were told the yarn from Spinrite is marketed in many parts of the world and anyone with problemswith a pattern or yarn may contact Mrs. Rosemary Rogn- valdson of Spinrite, who is well qualified to solve any problems: Mrs. Kathleen Semple, Mrs. Jean Bell and Mrs. Marie Stute arranged the meeting. . Following the tour the members returned to the Brussels library for a delicious lunch. Mrs. Alice Brothers was the lunch convener. Mrs. Peggy Cudmore presided over a brief meeting. An invitation was received from the Walton WI to attend its Aug. 21 meeting with Ken Campbell the guest speaker at 8 p.m. Mrs. Marie McTaggart, Mrs. Glenna Stephens, Mrs. Iona Moore and Mrs. Eleanor Hemingway have formed a committee to look after the Huron .County Historical Society meeting in September. The July meeting is to take the form of a picnic at the home of Mrs. Doris McCall with Mrs. Leona Armstrong, Mrs. Edna McLellan, Mrs. Marie Stute and Mrs. Brothers being the com- mittee in charge. Mrs. Kathy Bridge is to look after the Brussels Fair display, "Five articles depicting a child's birth- day". It was decided to donate $50 to the tornado fund. The roll call, "Hints on saving time and energy" was answered by 24 mem- bers. The meeting closed with the singing of "God Save the Queen". Evening Unit studies Korea BELGRAVE — The Even- ing Unit of Knox United Church UCW met at the home of Mrs. George Michie on June 14. Mrs. Bob Grasby opened with a welcome to everyone and conducted the business. Mrs. Jim Hunter led the worship. "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" was sung, accompanied by a tape recording of singing at West- minster College weekend. Mrs. Mel Mathers read ",Hope Can Come True" by Norman Vincent Peale.
