Mr. Bannerman was a son of the late John Bannerman and Elizabeth Mowbray and was born in Greenock Township on March 1, 1902. They farmed for many years on Lot 18, Concession 14 of Culross Township before moving to Wingham in 1959. He then worked at Lloyd Doors 'for a few years before his retirement in 1965. He remained a member of Salem United Church. Left to mourn his passing, besides his wife, are members of their family: Irene Bannerman, Ilene and - Michael Coutts, all of Hamilttn, Muriel and. Elmer McFarlan of Wingham, Thelma and Eric Fink- biener, Crediton, John and Jeanne Bannerman of Cale - don East, Maurice and Don- na Bannerman, Wingham. There are 12 grandchildren; one brother, Bert Banner- man, and one sister, Mrs. Milton (Mabel) Ross, both of Teeswater. He was prede- ceased by one sister, Nellie Kennedy of Kincardine. Friends paid their respects at The McBurney Funeral Home where - Mr. Ban- nerman rested until Tuesday when funeral service was conducted at 1:30 by Captain Borden Linkletter of the Wingham Corps of the Salvation Army. Six grand- sons carried him to his. final resting place in Wingham Cemetery: Lloyd, Jim and Rick Coutts, Steven and. Doug McFarlan and Jeff Bannerman. Currie of 137 James Street, Wingham, and his family are this week mourning the passing of a loving wife and mother, .Mrs. Katherine Jean Currie, which occurred Sunday, June 2, at Wingham and District Hospital. She was in her 72nd year. .. The former Jean Orr,, Mrs. Currie was born at Broderick, Saskatchewan, on September 18,, 1913. Her parents were the late William Orr and Abilene Jeffry. She married Mr. Currie in Wingham on March 20, 1943. Mourning her death, `besides her husband, are her family: Anne and Jim Toth of Goderich, Bruce and Liz Currie, Turnberry .Town- ship, and Duane and Gwen Currie, West Wawanosh Township. Also Surviving are 'four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Oswald (Mary Dolena) Rudi of Hyee Park, Mrs. W. T. (Jessie) Lapp, Wingham, and, Mrs. Elson (Isabel) Arnold, Bervie; .and six brothers, James ' Orr of London, Robert, ''Kinloss Township, Alex, Montreal, Bruce and Richard, both of Teeswater, and Ken of British Columbia. She was predeceased by one sister Christina in 1955. Mrs. Currie was a member of the Wingham United Church and the senior Women's Institute. She was the current Noble Grand of Majestic Rebekah Lodge No. 352 and was honored: by her Lodge sisters at a memorial. service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30. Funeral service for the late Mrs. John L. Currie was conducted at 3:30 Tuesday at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, by Rev. J. Rea. Grant. Interment fol- lowed in Wingham Ceme- tery. Pallbearers were two grandsons, Rob and Bill Toth, and four nephews, Doug Lapp, Bill Percy, Alex Rudi and' Mery Arnold. He is survived by two daughters, -Mrs. Marjorie McLennan, Kitchener, and Mrs. Doug (Marilyn) Layton, Wing - ham; and one son, Don Petteplace of Clinton. There are 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. Marion. Martin of West Montrose and Mrs. Ben (Kit) Scott of Ripley. He was predeceased by one brother, Jim Petteplace. The late Morley Pet- teplace rested at• the Mac- Pherson Funeral Chapel in Teeswater until Saturday when funeral service was conducted at two o'clock by Rev. Paul Mills. Interment followed in Teeswater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alex McKenzie, Earl Dickison, Jim McInnes, Bill Martin, Stan Martin and Ben Scott.
