The two of them arrive at Olympic Stadium well before game time and,. through a° friend, are introduced to Dawson. After he gives Steve his autograph, teammate Tim Raines playfully pushes off his cap. Steve picks up. the cap and is so awestruck he cannot react when Daw- son asks for its return. Eventually, Dawson says he can get another: The following days and nights are the happiest in Steve's life. He wears his cap everywhere and is proud to show it to his friends.
