Leal congregation
celebrates Easter
A Good Fr 41i Fr io-s, service was
conducted at -St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, with
special music as the choir
sang the Anthem, "Man of
Sorrows". The girls' en-
semble sang "Oh, How He
Loves You and Me" and
Nancy Campbell sang
"Could It 'B' That I Should
Gain", accompanied by
Anne Campbell. Rev. Paul
Mills' sermon was entitled
'°Blood Is the Magic Gift of
Life".
• A large attendance was
present Sunday morning
when joyous hymns were
sung and Easter flowers
adorned the sanctuary. The
choir, under the leadership
off Mrs. Mills, sang the an-
thems, "Behold the Man"
and "I Am the Resurrec-
tion", the solo part taken by
Mrs. Bruce MacDonald. The
girls' ensemble sang "Jesus
Christ Is Alive".
Mr. Mills' sermon was
entitled "A Miraculous
Resurrection". He claims
the difference between a
Christian and all other faiths
is a relationship with the
living Lord. One is not a
Christian until he knows
Him; salvation is, found in no
one else.
The service created a
joyous time to commemor-
ate Christ's resurrection.
Easter lilies add
to morning worship
BELGRAVE — A prelude
-of piano and organ Easter
selections was presented by
Mrs. Howard Morton and
Mrs. George Procter on Sun-
day, morning at Knox United
Church.
Several Easter lilies in full
bloom added to the inspir.
ational celebration of the
Lord's supper. The service
was conducted by the Rev.
John G. Roberts who based
'his remarks on Luke 24: 11,
"And their words seem to
them As idle tales and they
believe them not".
He said, "The disciples did
not believe because they saw
the empty tomb". Today we
are in a similar situation.
When Jesus says, "Follow
Me", and we must answer,
"Yea" or "Nay" — Risk all
or deny our Master.
The large choir rendered
two anthems, "Then Came
Easter - Morning" and
"Christ Is Risen".
Two members were re-
ceived into the church: Mrs.
Kenneth (Linda) Hopper by
Profession of Faith and Mrs.
Donald (Marlene) Procter,
who transferred her certifi-
cate to Belgrave church.
The church was filled to
capacity, many having come
a distance to worship with
parents and friends on the
resurrection morn.
