December is busy
at a local Legion
BRUSSELS — The month
of December is a busy one at
Legion Branch 218. Last
Saturday the Santa Claus
parade was held and the
Legion float came in second.
The Legion pipe band also
was involved.
There still are two turkey
bingos remaining before
Christmas and they are this
Friday evening and Dec. 21
and they start at 8 p.m. So if
you haven't won your turkey
yet, come out to the branch
and try your luck.
The Brussels Legion
hosted a Zone C-1 dart
tournament last Saturday
with 20. teams competing. It
was a photo finish as Kin-
cardine did it to the local
boys in the playoffs, leaving
them in second place.
The project at the front
door has got underway with
the installation of a set of
outside lights, but there still
is much work to be done.
This month's general
meeting will be Monday
evening at 8:30. All members
are urged to attend.
Various organizations are
holding Christmas parties at
the Legion again this year,
keeping the auditorium and
the ladies of the auxiliary
quite busy.
The night of Dec. 29 should
be lively as Harry Busby and
his Crippled Ducks will be
playing for a dance, starting
at 9. A lunch will be served
and everyone is welcome.
