A native of Grey Town- ship, Erwin Leonard Heibein of 45 Alfred Street East, Wingham, passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, October 22. He was in his 86th year. Born in Grey on December 9, 1898, Mr. Heibein was a son of the late John Heibein and Julienia Pawson. He received his elementary education at Molesworth Public School and during his early .adult life he was engaged in farming. In the early '40s he headed West and from 1942 until 1960 he worked as a tank car loader for Imperial Oil. On October 28, 1950, he married the former Emma Elizabeth Friesen in Regina and they came to this area in 1971. She survives to mourn his passing, along with one daughter, Mrs. Norman (June) Sanby of Abernethy, Saskatchewan; one son, Keith Heibein of Zehner, Saskatchewan; one stepson, Ed Giesbrecht of Regina, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jim (Marlene) Needham of London. There are nine grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild;- two brothers, William of Regina and George, Brussels; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Kate) Cosens of Chetwynd, B.C., and Mrs. Bill (Annie) Mitchell; Molesworth. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. Friends paid their respects at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, until Thursday when service was conducted at two o'clock by Rev. J. Rea Grant of Wingham United Church where deceased was a member. Interment followed in Molesworth Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Lloyd Heibein, Bill Ropp, Ralph Locking, Orland Hamilton, Gerard Schalk and Lawson Ward. Honorary bearers were Howard Savage and Ben Hayden. Floral tributes were carried by Kim and Dale Henebry, Jim Agar and Bob Agar. Mrs. D. M. Fraser dies in hospital. Passed away in Wingham and District Hospital on October 16, Mrs. Mary Luella Fraser of RR 5, Brussels, in her 92nd year. Mrs. Fraser, the former Mary Luella Shaw, was predeceased by her husband, Delbert Milton Fraser, on May 16, 1976. She is survived by one son, Robert of RR 5, Brussels, and one daughter, Mrs.,,,Jack .(Dorothy) Cod, Atwood. There are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Death of Rowland Ballagh is mourned by his family A life lived in service to God and to others ended Monday, October 22, with the death of Rowland Ballagh of 290 Catherine Street, Wingham, in Wingham and District Hospital at the age of 87 years. His death followed a brief' battle with illness. Fleming Rowland Ballagh was born June 1; 1897, on the second concession of Culross Township, on the farm where, he lived and worked for more than 70 years. He was a son of the late James Ballagh and Katie Rowland. A quiet, gentle man, he is remem- bered • fondly by neighbors and friends in the Belmore- Teeswater area with whom he worked and socialized. In his early adult years, he was a popular entertainer, participating in many evenings of fun in the community. Since 1916, he had been a member of the Canadian Foresters who presented him with his 60 - year pin a few years ago. Mr. Ballagh was, for many years, a member of the Culross School Area Board, serving as chairman for a few years. A faithful member of the Belmore United Church for most of his life, he served the congregation as elder, trustee, Sunday School teacher, superintendent and choir member. At the time of his death he was a member of Wingham United Church which he joined when he moved to Wingham in 1969 when he retired from farm- ing. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 61 years, the former Nelda Wolfe of Lakelet; and three daugh- ters, Mrs. Claude (Mildred) Bronson of Elmira, Mrs. John (Velma) Clark of Dun- das and Lavonne Ballagh of Wingham. His passing also leaves a void in the lives of his grandchildren, Ron, Neil and Carolyn Bronson, Greg and Steve Clark. Also sur- viving is one sister, Mrs. George (Mae) Fisher of Carman, Manitoba. He was HESS—Henry and Linda are delighted to announce the addition to their family of Emily Erin, born October 28 at Wingham and District Hospital, weighing seven pounds, two ounces. Funeral service held recently for Walton woman St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Brussels, was filed with mourners on Thursday, October 18, for the funeral service of Mary Alice Ryan of Huron Street, Stratford, formerly of Walton, who died in Strat- ford on October 15 in her 23rd year. Rev. Stan Soltysik con- ducted the 11 o'clock mass and interment took place later in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brus- sels. The Brussels Chapel of M. L. Watts Funeral Homes was in charge of arrange- ments. Pallbearers were Michael Jones, Oary Boyd, Doug Cousins, Rob Keffer, Kevin Pennington and Jeff Smith. Flower bearers were Julie Blake, Sandra Huether, Lisa Glanville, Pam Nolan, Yolande Boyd and Pam Engel. Mary Alice was the dearly loved daughter of Gerald and Ann (Skinner) Ryan of Walton; dear sister of Paul of Walton, Chris and Michael, at home; grand- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ryan of Walton and Mrs. Freda Skinner, Brussels. predeceased by two sisters, Clara, who lost her life in a farm accident at the age of six, and Mrs. Carter (Margaret) McKee of Galt (1978). The late Rowland Ballagh rested at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, where friends -paid their respects Tuesday afternoon ,.and evening. Complete funeral and committal service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30, conducted by Rev. J. DEATHS WESENBURG-Passed away at his residence in Brussels on October 22, Joseph Earl Wesenburg, in his 41st year. He was the dear son of George and Helen (Smith) Wesenburg of Brussels and is survived by his sisters and brothers, Larry of Kitchener, Fred, Sebringville, Meryl Dun- can and Dianne Gibson of Fergus and Dawne, Tavi- stock.
