October named agri-food month October has been named . Agri -Food Month and will be the focus of a number of food -related celebrations in Ontario. The celebrations are being sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food°in conjunction with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and several producer boards. The month will feature winery and farm tours, a harvest festival at Toronto's Harbourfront and a Harvest Home celebration at the Ontario Agricultural Muse- um at Milton. "It's a month-long celebra- tion with a serious message: that the agriculture and food industry puts food on the table in more ways than one," Agriculture and Food Minister Dennis Timbrell said. "It means $12.6 billion a year to Ontario's economy. It directly influences the livlihood of one in five workers in the province. It's number two inexport sales, second only to cars and car parts."
