CELEBRATES B1RTFIDAY--Jean Kelly, a resident of
the Brookhaven Nursing Home, celebrated her 93rd
birthday last Saturda,V.; Mrs. Kelly, the former Jean
Anderson, , was born Sept. 15, 1893, in . Turnberry
Township and she farmed with her husband William on
the fourth concession of Morris for many years before
retiring to Patrick Street in Wingham. Mrs. Kelly has one
daughter, Lois Morgan of Ailsa Craig, one son Russell
of Morris Township, five grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren. She has resided at Brookhaven for the
past two years.

For travelling to the Parry
Sound area for their
honeymoon, Ruth chose a
pink suit with burgundy
accessories.
The bride is a graduate of
the law' and security course
of Sheridan College and is
employed as a bylaw en-
forcement officer for, the
City of Waterloo. The couple
is residing in Waterloo.
Guests attended from
Airdrie, Alberta; Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan; Thunder
Bay, Brantford, Toronto,
Oakville, Guelph, London,
Waterloo, Goderich, Tees -
water and Wingham.

church where she received
her early spiritual training
for a very special day in her
life, the day she became the
bride of Richard Joseph
Cortes of Chicago, Illinois.
Bluevale United Church was
decorated with pink and
white roses surrounding
candelabra holding candles
lit by the bride's cousin,
Murray Edgar of Aylmer.
Rev. Wilma Brown of-
ficiated for the ceremony at
seven o'clock on September
1. Marie Douglas was
organist and also ac-
companied the soloist, the
bride's great-aunt, Hazel
Sadler, as she sang "The
Wedding Song", "We've
Only Just Begun" and "Walk
Hand in Hand".
The bride was given in
marriage by her parents,
Harvey and Audrey Edgar of
RR 4, Wingham. The groom
is a son of Sylvester and
Isabel Cortes, Chicago,
Illinois.
The bridal gown was white
floor -length with a long
flowing train. The bodice,
trimmed with lace and
pearls', was styled with
standup collar and long puffy
sleeves with lace cuffs. Her
brimmed hat was also
trimmed with lace and
pearls and held a waist -
length veil and she carried
three pink roses accented
with baby's breath and fern.
She wore a ruby ring which
hadbelonged to her great -
grandmother.
Maid of honor was a. close
friend of the bride, Karol
Galbraith of Owen Sound;
and bridesmaids were the
bride's cousin, Brenda
Edgar of Wingham, the
groom's sister, Gloria Cortes
of Chicago, and two friends
of the bride, Mary Ellen
Elston of Wingham and
Joyce Burr, London. They
wore pink satin floor -length
gowns with full puffed
sleeves and offset accordion -
pleated bodices. Each at-
tendant carried a single
white rose with baby's
breath and fern.

double -ring candlelight
ceremony which took place
in St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Wingham. Murray
Nethery, brother of the
bride, was server.
The bride was given in
marriage by her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Nethery
of Wingham. The groom is
the son of Mr. and Mk Jay
McDonald of Brantford.
Ruth's wedding gown was
a charming Victorian style
in white organza over taf-
feta, richly trimmed with
lace and ribbon and ex-
tending into a train. Her hat
featured seed pearls and a
fingertip veil. She carried
pink Sweetheart roses and
white carnations.
Pink roses graced the altar
and baskets of garden
flowers in pink and burgundy
complemented the at-
tendants' burgundy tuxedo -
style dresses and their
bouquets of pink and white
carnations. Esther Nethery
was her sister's maid of
honor and bridesmaids were
Jane Vath and Carol Van-
derWoude, friends of the
bride.
