Wayne Caldwell of the county planning department attended last Wednesday's meeting of Morris council to report how the plan is progressing. Hesaid nearly all the line meetings have been held, which means the public meetings can follow. The township has received' a government grant toward the cost of preparing the plan and one of the conditions of that grant is that the plan be completed by . January of 1986. In other business, Nicholson Construction of Sebringville was awarded the contract for $850 for the open work on the Laidlaw Municipal Drain, while 11. L. Roth of New Hamburg will complete the closed portion of the drain for $40;960. Seniors' Day Centre News By Rita Rice Well, now the election is over and fall is rolling in, the Day Centre is getting ready for its fall programs. One of the activities will be our semi-annual flea market on Saturday, Sept. 29. We are taking names for table rentals at 357-1440 or 357-1445 or drop into the centre in the Wingham Armouries to book a table. Booking must be confirmed by payment of the fee no later than Sept. 21. Tickets are being cir- culated for the flea market raffle. First prize is a cedar - lined pine chest made by Wes Young of Lucknow, a volunteer driver at the centre. A second item is a Board members who were absent from the Aug. 27 board meeting are reminded the next meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. ' We invite any area seniors to come into the centre in the mornings to participate in our .exercise program at approximately 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Remember, anyone can be a source, of referrals to the centre. If you know of someone who would benefit from attending, contact the staff and make the referral. Mrs. George Thompson, convener of Christian Development , read from the study book, Jesus Means Life, and Mrs. Chapman read again from Mark's Gospel. Following the singing of a hymn, she led in prayer. The .offering and Least Coin were received and dedicated by Mrs. Gibb. Mrs. Garnet Farrier thanked the hostess and also ex- tended thanks to Mrs. Thompson for leading the study session.
