Last Saturday Mrs. Bill Evans of London visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Mr. -and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and Mr.. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Mi's. Evans accompanied Mrs. Eric Evans to Teeswater last Friday to attend the funeral of Alexander Scott Donaldson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Donaldson. Darlene Simpson of Los Angeles was home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Simpson, for two weeks during her holidays. Her sister Jean, Mrs. Marc Fahli of Windsor, also was home, for one week. Their cousin, Mary Henderson (Mrs. Bethus) was home at Lucknow and a family party was enjoyed by all last Friday evening at the Whitechurch Community Memorial Hall. Guests with Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan were Mrs. Eileen Parker, Jenny and Laurie of Exeter and Jim MacIntyre and Heather of Vermillion Lake. All at- tended church at the United Church on Sunday. - Paul Geiger of Winnipeg visited Mr. and Mrs. McClenaghan last Thursday. Kevin Beecroft spent a few holidays on the farm with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft. Hugh Sinnamon returned from Calgary last Friday accompanied by Matthew Webster who will visit friends here before returning to Nova Scotia. - Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Beecroft, Angela, Jennifer, Janet and Jonathon of Exeter, visited Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Karen Beecroft has a position with New Orleans Pizza at Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft and Karen visited last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hertel of Kit- chener. Mr. and Mrs. Hector Purdon of Strathroy spent the weekend with his sister, Mrs. Cassie Mowbray. The relatives of George Lubbers helped him and his family celebrate his birth- day recently. The relatives came from Blyth, Auburn, Kitchener and Drayton. Last Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore were honored by their family at a 25th anniversary party at the local hall with music sup- plied by Joe Tiffin's or- chestra. A large crowd was present and a good time was had by all. Sunday tisitors with Mr, and Mrs. John deBoer were Mr. and Mrs. Sid Druinsme and family of Goderich. Mrs. Neil Rintoul and Stuart, Mrs. Doris Robinson and Tracy .and Mrs. Bill Rintoul recently went to Kitchener. Michelle and Michael Gutowski returned with them to visit with the , Robinson family. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen attended the Forster picnic Sunday at Goderich, where around 25 people gathered for the event. Joint services will be held this Sunday at Chalmers Presbyterian Church. Sunday school will begin at -10 a.m: and a -Bible class. for those who are interested will be held under the direction of Rev. G. Ball until the church service starts at 11 a.m. Visitors over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. llmer. Heather Currie, with her father, crossed the lawn to join Michael Gary Burke under a flower -covered rose arbor banked with ferns, urns of daisy mums, baskets of pink gladioli and phlox, Queen Anne's lace and wild flowers. Fountains bubbled as the couple pledged wedding vows before family and friends in a garden ceremony held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr., and Mrs. John A. Currie, Pioneer Glen Farm, RR 3, Wingham. The bride was assisted by her sister, Kareii Peter, and her niece, Andrea Courtis, dropped rose petals from her wicker basket in Heather's path to meet the groom. The groom is the son of Mrs. Beryl Sherren of Camp Borden. Rev. John Wood officiated at the ceremony and classical recorded music, played by Kemp Currie, floated softly through the air during the ceremony and afternoon. The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother and chose- a traditional dress of white Venetian lace over satin in cocktail length, featuring off -the -shoulder lace flounce and long lilypoint sleeves. A floral halo held her shoulder - length veil and she carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and white shasta daisies, accented with baby's breath. Mrs. Karen Peter of London was her sister's matron of honor. She wore a ballerina -length dusty rose off -the -shoulder dress with matching flounce and she carried an arm bouquet of pink miniature carnations, shasta-- daisies . and . baby's- breath. The bride's niece, Miss Andrea Courtis of Dor- chester,' wore a dusty rose striped dress with shoulder ruffles. A hairband of pink flowers was- worn in -her hair ceremony and she carried a wicker basket containing rose petals. Mark Anthony of Guelph was the best man. A wedding buffet dinner was enjoyed at the Whitechurch Community Miall and a reception followed in the Wingham Legion Hall, Welcoming the guests were the mothers of the bride and groom, Mrs. Currie in a navy and ivory demise gown with ivory hat and accessories and a pink orchid corsage, Mrs. Sherren- wearing ...a.. - beige georgette gown with cowl neckline, beige and blown accessories and a white orchid corsage. For .travelling to Quebec City and the East Coast, the bride wore - a _ teal blue MRS. DON .EADIE Snyder Studio Photo georgette dress with white straw hat, white accessories and a pink rose corsage. Mr. and Mrs. -Burke will reside in Toronto. The bride is a graduate of the University of Guelph and is presently employed with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Toronto. Out-of-town guests were present from Hamilton, Borden, Toronto, Ottawa, Guelph and Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Especially pleased to be able._to attend. the wedding of their grand- children were Mrs. John Strong of Gorrie, the bride's grandmother, and Mrs. Grace Johnstone of Hamil- ton, the groom's grand- mother. • Belmore Personal Notes Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hall and family recently par- ticipated in an antique car tour of the Waterloo area in their 1914 Model T Ford. The tour was held in conjunction with the Ontario region of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, of which Mr. Hall is a member. Mrs. Don Eadie, ac- companied by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hoover of Brussels and Mrs. Ross Gibson of Wingham, spent a few days last week in the Muskoka area. While in Parry Sound they enjoyed the boat cruise of the 30,000 Islands aboard the "Island. Queen". Miss Searles is a niece of the Mul- veys. At the service of worship Sunday morning at :Knox Presbyterian Church, Rev. Larry Welch baptized Laura Deborah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick McPherson, and Gregory Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Jeffray. Rev. Welch also delivered a thoughtful sermon on "Prayer". We are pleased to report that Ken Dickson is able to be home again after being hospitalized for one week.
