Memorial Hall.

family celebrate his birth-

Last Saturday evening Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Moore were
honored by their family at a
25th anniversary party at the
local hall with music sup-
plied by Joe Tiffin's or-
chestra. A large crowd was
present and a good time was
had by all.

service starts at 11 a.m.

It was a beautiful sunny
afternoon at 3:30 on
Saturday, August 4, as.
Heather Currie, with her
father, crossed the lawn to
join Michael Gary Burke
under a flower -covered rose
arbor banked with ferns,
urns of daisy mums, baskets
of pink gladioli and phlox,
Queen Anne's lace and wild
flowers. Fountains bubbled
as the couple pledged
wedding vows before family
and friends in a garden
ceremony held at the home
of the bride's parents, Mr.,
and Mrs. John A. Currie,
Pioneer Glen Farm, RR 3,
Wingham. The bride was
assisted by her sister, Kareii
Peter, and her niece, Andrea
Courtis, dropped rose petals
from her wicker basket in
Heather's path to meet the
groom.
The groom is the son of
Mrs. Beryl Sherren of Camp
Borden. Rev. John Wood
officiated at the ceremony
and classical recorded
music, played by Kemp
Currie, floated softly
through the air during the
ceremony and afternoon.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father and
mother and chose- a
traditional dress of white
Venetian lace over satin in
cocktail length, featuring
off -the -shoulder lace flounce
and long lilypoint sleeves. A
floral halo held her shoulder -
length veil and she carried
an arm bouquet of pink roses
and white shasta daisies,
accented with baby's breath.
Mrs. Karen Peter of
London was her sister's
matron of honor. She wore a
ballerina -length dusty rose
off -the -shoulder dress with
matching flounce and she
carried an arm bouquet of
pink miniature carnations,
shasta-- daisies . and . baby's-
breath.
The bride's niece, Miss
Andrea Courtis of Dor-
chester,' wore a dusty rose
striped dress with shoulder
ruffles. A hairband of pink
flowers was- worn in -her hair
ceremony
and she carried a wicker
basket containing rose
petals.
Mark Anthony of Guelph
was the best man.
A wedding buffet dinner
was enjoyed at the
Whitechurch Community
Miall and a reception followed
in the Wingham Legion Hall,
Welcoming the guests were
the mothers of the bride and
groom, Mrs. Currie in a navy
and ivory demise gown with
ivory hat and accessories
and a pink orchid corsage,
Mrs. Sherren- wearing ...a.. -
beige georgette gown with
cowl neckline, beige and
blown accessories and a
white orchid corsage.
For .travelling to Quebec
City and the East Coast, the
bride wore - a _ teal blue

Mr. and Mrs. -Burke will
reside in Toronto. The bride
is a graduate of the
University of Guelph and is
presently employed with the

present from Hamilton,
Borden, Toronto, Ottawa,
Guelph and Rosetown,
Saskatchewan. Especially
pleased to be able._to attend.

children were Mrs. John
Strong of Gorrie, the bride's
grandmother, and Mrs.
Grace Johnstone of Hamil-
ton, the groom's grand-
mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hall
and family recently par-
ticipated in an antique car
tour of the Waterloo area in
their 1914 Model T Ford. The
tour was held in conjunction
with the Ontario region of the
Horseless Carriage Club of
America, of which Mr. Hall
is a member.
Mrs. Don Eadie, ac-
companied by Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Hoover of Brussels
and Mrs. Ross Gibson of
Wingham, spent a few days
last week in the Muskoka
area. While in Parry Sound
they enjoyed the boat cruise
of the 30,000 Islands aboard
the "Island. Queen".
