Rev. Wilena Brown of- ficiated for the ceremony at' 'an altar decorated in shades of pink and white, pink roses and white mums surround- ing candelabra holding pink candles. The bride is a daughter of Glen and Mary Lou John- ston, RR 2, Bluevale, and her groom is the son of Jim Darling of Gorrie and Isobel Darling, St. Thomas. The bride's great-aunt, Dorothy Bolton, presided at the church organ and a cousin, Elizabeth Bowman, sang "Walk Hand in Hand", "Each for the Other", "You Light Up My Life" and "The Rose". Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a chiffon floor -length gown flowing with a ruffle - trimmed train. A lace inset bodice was edged with a ruffle and similar lace in- serts adorned the sleeves and cuffs. A bridal wreath held her three -tiered illusion veil and she carried a trailing bouquet of roses, stephanotis and baby's breath in shades of pink and white. A close friend of the bride, Karen Alexander of Brussels, was her honor attendant and was attired in a pastel pink two-piece floor - length gown with spaghetti straps, topped with a sheer ruffled overblouse. The groom's niece, Christine Morrison of Listowel, was the flowergirl. She wore a white floor -length gown similar to the bride's dress and carried a miniature of the attendants' bouquets. The groom's nephew, Andrew Caskanette of Kitchener, was bearer of the rings. Ron Darling of Gorrie was his brother's best man. Guests from British Colum- bia, cambridge (H), Kit- chener, Alberta, Listowel, London. St. Thomas, Ripley, Kincardine and this area were escorted to marked pews by the usher, Albert Roetcisoender, friend of the groom, of Blyth, and the' junior usher, Scott Johnston, brother of the bride, of Blue - vale. Peter Bauer of Wingham provided recorded music for the reception at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre. Receiving the guests was the bride's mother in a dusty rose floor -length gown with sheer sleeves, pleated ruffled cuffs and waistline peplum. A pink orchid corsage highlighted her gown. She was assisted by the groom's mother in a fuschia pink floor -length gown accented with a pastel pink orchid corsage. For travelling to the East Coast, the bride wore a pale pink sundress with white belt and white short -sleeved bolero, complemented by a corsage of pink , roses. The. newlyweds are residing at Listowel. The bride is a graduate of Westervelt Travel Institute, London, and the groom graduated from London's Fanshawe College. Honored grandparents attending the wedding were Eva Wright of Brussels and Beth Johnston of Bluevale, grandmothers of the bride, . and Fraser Haugh of Bluevale, grand father of the groom. The bride was honored at five bridal showers before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Garniss and Andrew Hawken of Londoi, Luella, Robert and Jackie Hawken of Agincourt, Donald and Benjamin Hawken, Burlington, Joe Kerr and Renata Janik of Toronto, Murray Kerr, Scott and Michael of Collingwood, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ran- son, Jennifer and Jeffray of Guelph, Mr. and Mrs. George Kerr, Shelley, Shannon and Steven of Listowel, Joe Kerr, Mrs. Gordon Kerr, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kerr, Angela, Jennifer, Christine and Tamara, all of Wingham, attended a 95th birthday celebration for Mrs. George Kerr of Brookhaven Nursing Home, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kerr on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Kerr's sister, Mrs. Margaret Carter, also a resident of Brookhaven, recently marked her 97th birthday. MRS. DERRILL HALIMAN Lakelet Gary Miller has moved to Lakelet. Neil Murray is spending this week with his cousins, Stephen and Brian Giles of Don Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Murray and Neil and Mrs. Mabel Murray attended a family gathering at the home of Mrs. Mildred Giles in Kit- chener on Sunday to observe the 25th wedding - an- niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Giles, Port Elgin. Couple living near Clinton fo!Iowing Seatorth ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Alexander Armstrong are residing at RR 5, Clinton, following a ceremony in Northside United Church, Seaforth, which united them in the bonds of holy matrimony at four o'clock on Saturday, August 4. Mrs. Armstrong, the former Susan Patricia McLean, is a daughter of Don and Betty McLean, RR 5, Clinton, and is a graduate of the Wingham and District Hospital Registered Nursing Assistants' Training Centre. The groom's parents are Tom and Joan Armstrong, RR 2, Lucknow. The ceremony was per- formed by Rev. Duke and Margaret Whitmore was organist. Lorrie Baker sang "Sunrise, Sunset", "The Wedding , Prayer", "When Two Become One" and "Follow Me". The bride's white taffeta dress was decorated with lace and pearls as was her matching hat which held a small veil. She carried a silk bouquet of rose and pink roses. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Catherine' Wedlock of Woodstock was matron of honor at her sister's wedding and bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Noreen Walker of RR3, Wingham, two friends of the bride, Connie Spiece of St. Catharines and Wendy Tomkins, Toronto, and the groom's niece, Renay Taylor of RR 2, Auburn. They provided a rainbow of colors, wearing gowns of different hues, the matron of honor in yellow and bridesmaids in blue, rose, pink and lilac. They carried baskets of rainbow -colored silk flowers. The groom's niece, Kim -Leishman of Belgrave; in her role as flowergirl, continued the theme, wearing a white dress with rainbow -colored sash and flowers. Baby's breath was sprinkled through her French -braided hair. Terry Armstrong of Wingham performed the duties of best man for his brother and guests were ushered by the groom's brother-in-law, Roy Taylor, RR 2, Auburn, the bride's brother, Ken McLean, RR 5, Clinton, and a friend of the groom, Ken Marks of RR 1, Belgrave. The bride's nephew, Jason McLean of London, was junior usher and another nephew, Paul McLean of RR 5, Clinton, was ringbearer. A reception followed -at the Vanastra Recreation Centre where music was supplied by Sound Systems 70 of Tiverton. Following the reception, the bride and groom left for a honeymoon at Chatham's Wheels Inn, the bride travelling in a black and white jumpsuit. For her daughter's special day, Mrs. McLean wore an off-white sheer dress.. trimmed with taupe, a hat in shades of, brown and a pink corsage. The groom's mother chose a red dress with a white corsage. Guests attended the wedding from London, Chatham, Port Colborne, St. Catharines, Brampton, Toronto and Kitchener. Honored guests included the groom's grandfather, Larry Hiseler of Kitchener, and the bride's grandmother, Elsie Dinsmore of Seaforth. Cook -King nuptials are held. at Teeswater Catholic Church A pretty summer wedding, was solemnized in Sacred Heart Church, Teeswater, on July 7 at three o'clock when Helen Marguerite King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. King off Teeswater, became the bride of Ronald George Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Cook of Walkerton. Rev. T. Slaman officiated at the ceremony and nuptial mass with Mrs. Nelson Pickell as organist. Mrs. Debbie Lou Ludolph sang "Ave Maria" at the offertory and "The Wedding Song" followed by "Wedding Prayer" during communion. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a gown of sheer white nylon, embossed with schiffli lace, over taffeta. A high split mandarin collar, with lace appliques at the neckline and sleeves, enhanced her gown which fell into a graceful train. She wore a coor- dinating hat with veil, swept up with flowers on one side. Her arm bouquet was of deep pink roses, baby's breath and greenery. Miss Julianne King of Wingham was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a two-piece gown of dusty rose taffeta, featuring a ruffled neckline and tulip skirt. She carried pink lilies with ternery and wore a circlet of . tiny pink flowers in her hair. Dressed similarly were her bridesmaids, Miss Katherine McGlynn of Guelph, Miss Catherine MacDonald of Toronto and Miss Karen Johnston of London, all friends of the bride. Misses Bridget and Meaghan Kennedy of Kit- chener, nieces of the bride, were flowergirls. They were dressed alike in short white eyelet dresses with full skirts, Peter Pan collars and taffeta sashes to match the dresses of the bridesmaids. They carried white lace baskets filled with flowers and flowered . circlets adorned their hair. Master 14hillip King of Wingham, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. William Creighton of • Banff, Alberta, friend of the groom, acted as best man and guests were ushered into the church by Richard Cook of Walkerton and Gary Cook of Hanover, brothers of the groom, and Robert Lindblad of Walkerton, friend of the groom. A wedding dinner, followed by a reception, was held at the Teeswater Snyder Studio Photo Community Centre. The bride's mother received guests attired in a toga -style dress of lavender rose ac- cented by a cream orchid corsage: She was assisted by the mother of the groom, who chose a sky blue dress with knife -pleated skirt and corsage of pink roses and baby's breath. For travelling to Penn- sylvania, Helen wore a cream linen suit with matching hat and ac- cessories: The couple is residing in Walkerton.
